A little holiday healing? Robert Pattinson 'invites Kristen Stewart to come see him in London' for Christmas as rumours swirl couple are rekindling their romance

There are more whispers about everyone's favourite Twilight co-stars rekindling their romance.

It has been reported that a trip to Robert Pattinson's home city of London may be on the cards for Kristen Stewart, who has allegedly been invited by her currently off-again boyfriend to spend Christmas with him.

The 27-year-old British star flew back to the UK this week, and is said to have called the 23-year-old actress he apparently can't seem to forget about to extend the invitation, according to Entertainmentwise.

The website is reporting that Rob put in the phone call to Kristen to congratulate her on her new movie, Camp X-Ray, getting accepted into the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

The pair - whose relationship status has been up and down for quite some time since the actress cheated on him with Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders - have been spending a significant amount of time apart of late.

But according to the website's sources, 'They talked for awhile and by the end of the conversation he invited her to come see him in London.'

'Not sure if she’s 100% going to take him up on it, but she was just so happy.'

The source added that the purpose of the trip would be to enjoy a solid amount of quality time together in order to work on getting their relationship back together.

It was previously reported by The Sun that the pair were instead planning to spend time together in Europe after Christmas, with a source telling the newspaper that Kristen was going to let Rob celebrate the holiday with his family and then meet him afterwards.

'But she's hoping they’ll travel to Paris together on Boxing Day and from there on to the Loire Valley,' the same source continued.

Reuniting? The couple have been struggling since Kristen cheated on Rob with Rupert Sanders, but reports say that they are trying to get things back on track

'She reckons it could be the relaxing break they need to completely get things back on track.'

Rob has been rumoured to be dating a string of Hollywood hotties since his initial split from Kristen earlier this year.

This summer he was linked to Elvis' granddaughter Riley Keough and later the actor was reportedly dating Sean Penn’s daughter Dylan – his eldest daughter with actress Robin Wright.

Meanwhile, Kristen's mother Jules has extended her own support for her daughter's success, posting an Instagram snap of a still from Camp X-Ray, in which the actress can be seen in profile.

Every time I think I'm over obsessing about this relationship, my teenage granddaughters can't wait to tell me what they've read/pictures, etc. I get the URL from one of them to read the article (knowing that 95% of these updates are false). No one knows what is happening with these two and folks should stop trying to figure them out. Leave them alone and they will find their way. I've seen every movie Ms. Stewart has made (I think). She is a young actress with tremendous talent. I'm hoping that she will get nominated for her role in Camp X-ray. An Oscar would be great but just getting nominated should make her peers look at her differently. I have only seen Pattinson in Twilight. My granddaughter told me how "Remember Me" ended. I was not happy with his gratuitious usage of 9/11. All of his other movies have a same story line. He sleeps with every one with that tortured look on his face. He should try a comedy.
