Starstruck Niall Horan poses up a selfie storm with Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell after One Direction's Saturday Night Live show

He grew up in a small town in County Westmeath in the Republic Of Ireland.

But life has changed substantially for Niall Horan since he found fame with One Direction in the 2010 British X Factor.

And the 20-year-old singer found himself rubbing shoulders with some of Hollywood's biggest stars this weekend when the boyband performed on Saturday Night Live.

Niall Horan happily posted up selfies of himself posing with Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd after the show.

The band teamed up with Will and Paul and their Anchorman 2 co-stars David Koechner and Steve Carell for a skit on the popular variety programme.

'Here he is! The one and only! Will Ferrell!,' Niall wrote in the caption of his selfie with the Anchorman star.

Will had on his deadpan Ron Burgundy face, while Niall had one eyebrow slightly cocked.

Niall and Paul's selfie showed the spikey-haired blonde singer and dark-haired actor smiling for the camera.

'What a super great guy ! Pleasure to work with!honour to meet! will never forget tonight!,' Niall wrote to his more than 4.5 million followers on Instagram.

And bandmate Harry Styles was equally thrilled at the experience, tweeting to his fans that 'now I fancy Paul Rudd.'


Niall also shared a selfie with Anchorman series star David with the caption reading: 'Whhhaaaaammmmyyy!'

One Direction - Harry, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall - skyrocketed to fame after finishing third in The X Factor UK in 2010.

Niall has been enjoying the fruits of his success and last week dined in New York City with 29-year-old pop star Katy Perry.

The pair jokingly declared they were engaged to each other last month after meeting up in Tokyo.

Niall and Katy have been close since the MTV Video Music Awards in 2012, when Niall stole a kiss from her after she presented the Best Pop Video gong to One Direction for What Makes You Beautiful.

One Direction performed two songs live on SNL - Story Of My Life and Through The Dark. Both tracks are from their third studio album Midnight Memories that was released last month.

Ok, I know they're not the most talented musicians ever, and try don't play their own instruments or write their own songs or whatever, but I just think they seem like the nicest guys! Like you never see them falling out f clubs or getting in fights or going to brothels. They just seem so sweet and nice and happy to be where they are! Good luck to them and I hope their star keeps rising!

I believe that this wonderful,talented,impressive band of dancing Troubadours known as One Direction will,in due course, be acclaimed as at least the artistic equals of even the legendary Scouse combo the Beatles,and that their music will similarly define an entire era of seismic shifts in the social, political and entertainment spheres of the entire Western World. The fact that they have cracked open the notoriously fickle and insular but gigantic American music market is testament to their diligence and dedication to their craft. It only remains for them to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show and they will join the ranks of the greatest entertainers of all time,standing proudly side by side with the legendary performers such as Elvis,Chuck Berry,Little Richard,The Rollin Stones,the Doors and of course their illustrious role models the immortal Beatles.
