She may be pushing 50, but Teri Hatcher proved she's still a kid at heart as she celebrated her birthday at Disneyland on Sunday.

True to her character Susan during her eight-year stint on the hit television show that reignited her career, Desperate Housewives she's got that youthful vibe.

The birthday girl turned 49 while enjoying some of Disneyland's iconic attractions, including the Matterhorn Bobsled, where she was seen looking quite windblown her open puckered mouth, tousled hair, and grip upon the handlebars in front evidence of a thrilling ride.

In a black puffer jacket over other layers of clothing, Teri was outfitted to brave a topsy-turvy spin around and through the snowcapped mountain inspired by the highest peak in the Swiss Alps, complete with a close encounter with a roaring red-eyed Abominable Snowman.

In fact, the former small screen Lois Lane wrapped not too long ago an animated film produced by Disneytoon Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures: Planes.

It was theatrically released on August 9.

Teri lent her vivacious voice to the eccentric Dottie, a forklift truck who helps with her friend Dusty’s maintenance.

Dusty is a cropdusting plane with a fear of heights who lives his dream of competing in a famous around-the-world aerial race.

‘I love animation,’ the Planes star told MailOnline in August. ‘But the greatest thing about Disney is that they take these very relevant issues, like “I’m going to push myself outside of my comfort zone and I’m going to take some risks in order to reach that thing I really dream of.” I can’t think of a more human story than that.’

Planes' subject matter might not have been as risque and daring as some of the Desperate Housewives material, but it appealed to the 49-year-old actress' sensibilities as a mother.

‘I have always really liked creating family entertainment and Disney does that really well,’ she told Metro in August. ‘I know what it’s like to have a young child at the weekend and feel like there is nothing to see in the movie theatre. Family is so important to me.’

Teri is a divorced single mother of a 16-year-old, Emerson Tenney -- the daughter she shares with actor John Tenney, whom she separated from shortly before securing her role on Desperate Housewives.

Mom and Emerson share quite a history of bonding experiences made possible by Disney.

Much of her early years with Emerson were filled with nights watching Disney films and magical trips to Disney parks in California and Florida where Teri and her daughter were completely spoilt – they even got to stay the night in the Cinderella castle.

‘We stayed up all night watching Disney movies,' the mother of one said. 'You’re only ever going to get to stay there one night in your life so we didn’t want to go to sleep. She was 11 – the perfect age. We ate chocolate bars and big pretzels and watched Cinderella, Lady And The Tramp and Atlantis, which is one of her favourites.’

This year, the 49-year-old actress has played a recurring character, Beatrice Le Beak, in the animated Disney Junior show based on Peter Pan -- Jake and the Never Land Pirates. In it, a band of young pirates compete against Captain Hook and Mr. Smee for treasure.

Teri's character is a sneaky pirate who steals things from Captain Hook.

Since Desperate Housewives went off the air in in May 2012, the Planes star has enjoyed a recurring stint on TV's Jane By Design, as well as guest roles on the series Funny Or Die Presents.
