Always up for a laugh, Juliette Lewis entertained herself on the red carpet for her latest film premiere as she broke into hysterics.

The kookie 40-year-old star wore an extravagant flowing flowered Naeem Khan gown to the opening of August: Osage County at the Zeigfeld Theatre in New York on Thursday.

With a bouquet of pink roses sprouting across her torso and a sheer panel covering her bottom half that spread out into a floral train, the From Dusk Til Dawn star covered her face with her hands in delight.

As her perfectly-manicured fingers splayed over her cheeks, fun-loving Lewis excitedly giggled at the star-studded event.

Her passionate exclamation perfectly showcased the H.Stern Golden Stones ring in 18K gold with black diamonds worth a whopping $13,200 that dominated her right hand.

Juliette matched the ring with similar H.Stern Ancient America earrings, that dripped from her ears at a cost of $4,200. She also wore Jimmy Choo shoes that were covered by the petaled train.

The one-shoulder silhouette and short-capped sleeve dress revealed the actress-turned-rock star's muscled arms as she rested a hand confidently on her hip.

In addition, the cascade of flowers emphasised Juliette's slim waist and the fabulous figure that she maintains by taking Barry's Bootcamp classes and learning the martial art of Muay Thai.

The lead singer of rock band Juliette and the Licks was saved from a fashion faux pas by sturdy undergarments worn below the sheer dress that exploded in colour once again at the bottom.

Lewis looked delighted to be joined by co-star Abigail Breslin, who plays Jean Fordham in the comedy-drama August: Osage County.

The 17-year-old, who sky-rocketed to fame as child actress in Little Miss Sunshine, proved that she is all grown up in a figure-hugging red Zac Posen dress and with her hair in a glamorous half up-do.

Both actresses have a lot to be happy about as the the film, which also stars Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Ewan McGregor, was nominated for three SAG Awards this week, including Outstanding Performance By A Cast In A Motion Picture.

'Hey gang! We got a #SAG award nomination for 'best ensemble cast' for #AugustOsageCounty So honored and proud! @WeinsteinFilms,' Juliette tweeted on Wednesday when the nominations were announced.

On Thursday, The Other Sister star was just as exuberant about the star-studded premiere and tweeted photos with her friends in the limousine on the way to the famous theatre.

Love this chick - she is super talented both in acting and as a singer & song writer. Have seen her on stage twice performing with her then band (Juliette Lewis & The Licks) and the energy in their shows is just amazing ! However.... @Esme --- I don't think she and Pitt were the best fit; it was a relationship in her youth, and she has commented that she doesn't even want to talk about that relationship now because it feels it was back in the "high school" days. I think Pitt seems far more conservative than Lewis.
