The View host Jenny McCarthy brushed aside catty comments by her talk show rivals on Thursday as she helped out with a holiday food drive to feed the hungry in New York City.

Despite Julie Chen's very public attack on her appointment to The View, the 41-year-old wore a long, festive red coat as she happily participated in the Feed The Hungry Canned Food Drive.

The co-host of ABC's all-female morning chat show helped load food items with the aid of City Harvest food bank staffers and New York City firefighters.

The single mother had her long, wavy blonde hair down, sported a pair of smart-looking glasses and wore bright cherry red lipstick.

Jenny lent a helping hand a day after her 43-year-old rival Chen on the CBS morning chat show The Talk criticised her hiring on The Howard Stern Show.

Julie, who also hosts Big Brother and is married to CBS president Les Moonves, said The View used to work because it offered different views on politics from five women with divergent backgrounds.

'No one wants to hear Jenny McCarthy talk about the New York mayoral race or politics. They don't. That's not what you put Jenny McCarthy on for,' Julie said on Stern's radio show.

Howard told Julie that her comments likely would be notied in the media, but she refused to back down.

'I'm not telling ABC anything they're not wondering themselves,' she said.

Jenny joined The View in September after conservative reality star Elisabeth Hasselbeck left to join Fox & Friends.

'I'm so grateful to be here. I'm grateful to have a job; I'm a single mother,' Jenny said when she joined The View.

The Talk co-host Sharon Osbourne also sat in on the interview with Howard and agreed with Julie about Jenny's hiring.

'They knew what their path was. You knew what to expect. You watched it for their different opinions and now it's kind of all over the place. It's not one or the other,' Sharon said.

They need to bring Joy back on, she was the glue that held that show together, like her or not.

Both shows suck. All bleeding heart Obama sycophants, it's no wonder the country is in the toilet.

I'm seeing more and more articles on mothers coming forward telling how their children were so active and normal before these vaccines have become afterwards introverted and spacey. One mother in particular said her daughter was always happy clapping her hands and vocal then she was vaccinated. A few days after her daughter started to act different. She no longer smiles and stands for hours opening and shutting doors or drawers. She has almost stopped talking. The mother showed videos of her daughter before and after, it was heartbreaking. What kind of government put's mercury in vaccines and gives them to children?

My best friends son started having seizures right after his DPT shots. He was vaccine damaged. I do not condone not vaccinating but I would suggest holding off a few months longer and make sure your children do not have a cold or a fever.

Chen is quite right to say the View has wandered away from its original goal of being different women at different times in life kicking around differing ideas- to a group of like indeed women all ¿yes ma¿aming¿ each other to death. And no one wants to hear anything McCarthy has to say on anything, she¿s an idiot. But that having been said, one wonders why Chen would ¿care¿ about this, considering they regularly beat her in ratings it seems more like her once more being catty.

The fact that Jenny is vocally anti-vaccine it is dangerous to give her such a platform. Her claims are not backed by any doctors.

indeed they've been debunked by doctors but she cries 'conspiracy' and keeps listening to her snake oil salesmen

She has been vocal but she's NOT vocal about it in her role on The View. That's 2 different things.

Enter your comment there is a reason this show ISNT called "The View Think Tank"....nor any other of these shows on air....they are all loaded with bilge water and bubbly gas. chen is nothing to write home about either...she lucked out an happened to marry a tv bigwig. the view is tasteless and no doubt holds its appeal by the joisey shore types. if baba wawa still had her wits about her, she would see whats become of her pride and joy....the show is dismal

There is no longer a conservative voice on that show. That was the objective by Barbara, the mega fawner, of the WH.
