Television viewers will be getting the royal treatment on Super Bowl Sunday.

Because rock star Prince has become part of the game day festivities, however he's not singing.

The 55-year-old will guest star as himself on the hit show New Girl, airing immediately following the NFL championship.

Despite making several films, this will be the purple wonder's first time on a TV comedy.

According to Page Six, the Purple Rain star is a big fan of the Zooey Deschanel sitcom and expressed interest in appearing on the series.

Zooey and friends will be partying like it's 1999 as the episode revolves around one of Prince's infamous house parties.

The When Doves Cry singer is no stranger to the Super Bowl having been the halftime performer back in 2007.

The Super Bowl is usually the most watched TV program of the year, so New Girl - and Prince - can expect huge ratings.

Fans of the show won't have to wait too much more because their Prince will come ... after the Super Bowl on February 2nd.
