The holiday season is notorious for igniting family spats.

And it seems LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian may be lucky to avoid one themselves this year, after they sent out a holiday card posing with Eddie's sons from his marriage to Brandi Glanville, Mason, 10, and Jake, 6.

Appearing in Life & Style magazine, the card shows the message: 'Naughty is the New Nice. Thank goodness or we'd all be gift-less! Here's to a jolly holiday and a naughty 2014. The Cibrian Family.'

Wearing matching blue onesies, the stars stand behind the two boys, who were clad in coordinated pyjamas of their own.

LeAnn and Eddie pose with their hands on their hips, looking indulgently at the boys, while Mason conforms to his 'naughty' status by eating a cookie and getting chocolate on his face, while little Jake winds his brother up by poking him.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Brandi is sure to be annoyed by the move, especially as she has spoken in the past about how it pains her to watch Rimes act as mother to her children.

'It's the worst pain you could ever imagine," the reality star told Bethenny Frankel. 'You think your heart is broken after you get a divorce? Wait until there is a girl tweeting pictures of, "Oh, look at my family." You have no idea.'

LeAnn was slightly more sensitive when posting a Thanksgiving snap of herself with Eddie and the boys.

Standing in front of their Christmas tree with Eddie and the boys, LeAnne captioned the snap: 'Thanksgiving wishes from our blended family to yours. So much love and peace.'

Luckily for Brandi, she may get to spend Christmas day with her boys after they spent Thanksgiving with Eddie and LeAnn.

Meanwhile, the country star wowed at the American Country Music Awards on Tuesday, with an emotional musical tribute to her idol Patsy Cline.

Brandi has been in the news recently for making racist comments about her Puerto Rican co-star Joyce Giraud on their reality show.

Apologising in an Instagram video, Brandi was seen sitting at her kitchen table with her dogs and wearing a very low-cut red top, saying: 'Sadly I am a d**k in the next three episodes.

'... I would like to apologise for my inappropriate jokes, I am a drunken mess on vacation.

She is what you get when instead of growing up learning skills, experience forming friendships and boundaries set by your parents, friends, authority figures, you don't go to school, you don't make friends, you are never taught appropriate behavior much less ever told no. Age appropriate skills which she cannot go back to learn. Her personality is set and there will be no changing it. Her parents did her no favors. Wouldn't want her life.
