YouTube co-founder sued by Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for 'diminishing value' of marriage proposal footage by posting it online hits back with counter-suit

Last month Kim Kardashian and Kanye West sued a co-founder of YouTube claiming he violated a confidentiality agreement by posting a video of the couple's marriage proposal to his new video-sharing website.

The couple sued on the basis that Chad Hurley wasn't invited to the elaborate October 21 proposal at San Francisco's AT&T Park, but was allowed to stay because he signed an agreement not to post any video or images from the event.

But now the billionaire businessman who co-founded Youtube is fighting back and has issued a lawsuit counter-suing the newly engaged couple.

Hurley claims that he wasn't informed that he was not allowed to film or distribute the footage which West did allow to be filmed for the possible broadcast on E! Entertainment, which is home to his fiancée's show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Hurley posted a fuzzy two-and-a-half-minute-long video on his new website MixBit that showed West proposing to Kardashian while an orchestra played.

The video also showed the ensuing celebration with Kardashian's family and invited guests toasting the newly-engaged couple.

As a result, the couple issued a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages from Hurley and his company, Avos Systems Inc.

Now the Youtube co-founder has counter-sued the couple claiming that he shouldn't be legally bound by the waiver because he was misled into signing it and received no compensation for signing away his rights.

In the lawsuit - in which he asks the judge to throw out Kim and Kanye's case - the businessman claims that after the proposal took place he was approached by someone who asked him to sign a waiver and told him it was a release so they could use his image in a TV special, so he signed the document without reading it.

Hurley is seeking his legal costs to be paid by Kim and Kanye.

West proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday following the birth of the couple's first child, daughter North West, who was born on June 15.

Say cheese: While the Kardashian clan posted many photographs on social media, the couple are displeased about unauthorised video footage which Hurley took and shared of the moment of the proposal

Kanye West and the Kard-trash-ian woman are the epitome of what is wrong with modern day attitudes. Kim is famous because she made a sex tape. She values marriage so low that she sold out and got hitched purely for a TV show. Kanye is a vulgar spoilt child who has actually likened his (idiot) performances to being as dangerous as a Police Officer or even the soldiers on the front line. My Christmas wish is that the world wakes up and sends these 2 leeches back from wherever they crawled out from.
