It's been 12 years since Derek Zoolander showed us all how to do 'blue steel'.

And Ben Stiller admits he is finally coming round to the idea of a sequel and there is even a script already written.

The hit 2001 comedy was both directed and written by Stiller and went on to become a cult classic with film fans.

Speaking to UK chat show host Graham Norton on Friday night's show, he said: 'There is a script and we are trying to figure out if we can get it together.

'I just want to make sure we can put it together the way it should be.'

The film starred Ben as intellectually-challenged male model Derek and Owen Wilson as his rival Hansel McDonald.

The movie came out shortly after the September 11th terror attacks so was a strange time to open in cinemas.

Ben reflected: 'It wasn’t a big hit.  It came out 10 days after 9/11, so a strange time to release a movie but I’m not sure it wouldn’t have been any bigger at any other time.

'But it’s caught on over the years. Fans still send me pictures on Twitter of their babies doing a Blue Steel look.'

Also on Friday's episode of the BBC chat show, chef Jamie Oliver spoke about his rivalry with Gordon Ramsay.

He said: 'We used to get on and I don’t know what happened.  It is a bit of a shame because when I was a young chef and training there were certain characters that are your "everything" and you look up to them.

'You read every word of their books and then when life doesn’t work out like that it’s a bit disappointing.'

It's such a funny, goofy movie, but clever and witty and not just cheap stunts. I would love to see a sequel if Stiller could still do the writing and directing. It would probably be a toss away if someone else did it for him.

oy dm what's your game then? you talk about stiller and oliver, but completely ignore Martin Freeman! bad form there, very bad form. Freeman's way more interesting than zoolander sequels and oliver discovering his hero has clay feet

I think a Zoolander sequel is a great idea! It's the kind of movie where a sequel could actually work and not feel too forced. I'm surprised they haven't done it sooner to be honest!
