Orlando Bloom skipped the after party for his movie's premiere in order to attend his Romeo & Juliet co-star Condola Rashad's birthday celebration on Wednesday.

The newly single actor, who announced his split from Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr after three years of marriage in October, attended the red carpet screening of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in New York City alone.

He then rushed over to help Condola – who he has been romantically linked to - celebrate her 27th birthday at the James Hotel's club, Jimmy, with her parents, Cosby Show star Phylicia Rashad and football player Ahmad Rashad, leaving his fellow Hobbit stars to enjoy the after party without him.

Orlando was reportedly 'twitchy' while hanging out with his co-stars and actor Stephen Fry at the premiere before taking off to see Condola.

An eyewitness told the New York Post's Page Six that the duo seemed to be very aware that all eyes were on them.

The source said: 'There's been a lot of speculation about them dating, but they made sure to keep a friendly distance.'

Orlando, 36, has previously gushed about his chemistry with Condola, after they played star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet in a Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s play.

Their run ended on December 8 but on Live with Kelly And Michael in October, the British star couldn’t help but be effusive when asked about Condola.

'We sometimes get applause after our first kiss because it just goes on,' he said. 'Sometimes I'm like, I'm not letting go.'

Orlando recently insisted he will 'always love' Miranda because of their son.

He explained: 'We're a family and we'll always love each other and we're going to be in each other's lives.'

Miranda has been romantically linked to her long-time friend, Australian billionaire James Packer, in recent weeks.

However, he appears to be enjoying his new single status as he joined Leonardo DiCaprio to party with a group of 'insanely hot' models on Tuesday.

The wild night out went down at the 1OAK nightclub in the trendy Meatpacking District of New York City, according to the New York Daily News.

Notorious modeliser Leo and Bloom were joined by several ladies after the women had attended a viewing party for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, in which Leo's supposed girlfriend Toni Garrn was seen sashaying down the catwalk.

But while the actor, who has become quite the ladies' man over the years, was lapping up the atmosphere, Bloom was apparently eager 'to fly under the radar' after splitting with Miranda just under two months ago.

Why is everyone trying to suddenly partner Orlando up with this one and that one? I don't think this co- star is especially attractive but I didn't think his wife was so spectacular either. Miranda just looked good for the cameras but I think she wasn't really very settled . Too bad for their beautiful son.

Can you blame him for moving on after the years of hell he's had to take from that egomaniac?

This is ridiculous. She just seems like a rebound girl for him and he doesn't look too pleased. He's probably thinking of Miranda or other women while with this woman.
