Miley's latest victim! Miss Cyrus dresses as 'Bad Santa' as she twerks with a Christmas tree for her latest performance

She has been notorious for her twerking antics with Robin Thicke, during her career-changing MTV VMA performance.

But Miley Cyrus is clearly not ready to stop there as she twerked with a Christmas tree onstage during Z100's Jingle Ball 2013 on Friday evening.

The 21-year-old was watched by thousands whilst she shook her pert bottom in front of a lady dressed as the festive tree and covered in silver tinsel and baubels.

It's not a Miley Cyrus performance without some twerking: The singer got up close and personal with a Christmas tree during her performance

Looking incredibly festive herself in a sexy Santa outfit, Miley opted for a pair of sparkly red hotpants, a matching sparkly red crop top with white fur-trim sleeves, and finished off the look with a pair of white, fluffy pompom earrings.

Her whole posse of backing dancers were also dressed in Christmas-inspired clothing, from white reindeer to Father Christmas himself.

The Wrecking Ball star was clearly excited by the performance, writing on Twitter ahead of the event: 'Almost Bad Santa time! Just one final @eos touch up by @freakabritt before we hit the stage!!'

Stars were attending the concert at Madison Square Garden, part of Clear Channel's first-ever iHeartRadio Jingle Ball national tour.

Performers at the Sold out show included Robin Thicke, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Selena Gomez.

Ariana Grande, Enrique Iglesias, Paramore, Pitbull, Austin Mahone and Jason Derulo also took to the stage.

After New York's show on Friday, the tour will move to Boston on Saturday, Washington, D.C., on Monday, Tampa, on Wednesday, before its final show in Miami on Friday, December 20.

Miley is currently riding high after being announced as the final performer at the annual New Year's Rockin' Eve festivities, taking to the stage just moments before the giant ball drops.

But whilst being renowned for her on-stage antics, Miley Cyrus' actions backstage are just as bizarre.

Miley, 21, was backstage at Z100's Jingle Ball 2013 at Madison Square Garden on Friday and stopped to apply AXE deodorant in a strange plug for the brand which sponsored the interview area.

The Wrecking Ball singer struck a series of unusual poses as she applied the antiperspirant, but kept up a conversation with those around her the whole time.

For once the controversial singer kept her clothes on and Miley was quite covered up on the red carpet.

The blonde beauty wore tailored black trousers with a distinctive yellow stripe down the side and a sleeveless white shirt, exposing her black bra.

Having rarely been out of the headlines since her showstopping performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs in August, Miley was asked backstage at Wednesday's Jingle Ball what her highlight of 2013 has been.

'Everyone else's, I think, biggest moment of me was the VMAs,' she admitted.

'That was probably my biggest moment, too. I was pretty stoked to perform there.'

Given just how well-publicised her scantily-clad twerking antics alongside the father-of-one ended up being, she was asked whether she would return to the scene of the crime next year and try to top it.

'I doubt they're ever gonna ask me back,' she laughed. 'But just kidding... I don't know.

'That was before my record [Bangerz] even came out, so, I mean, it was the beginning of what I was showing people what I was gonna do.

'It kind of just opened so many doors for me to be like, alright, I already p****d you off as much as I possibly can, so now I can kind of just be freer and kind of do whatever it is that we want to do.'

Miley also performed at the event and was introduced by her friend, troubled actress Lindsay Lohan.

Before the event, Lindsay posted a picture of herself on Instagram and wrote: '#jingleball2013 #Z100radio @mileycyrus can't wait to announce a talented beauty (sic). '

Lindsay went all out for the occasion in a sequinned white T-shirt, over tiny black shorts and thigh high leather boots.

She left her long red hair loose around her shoulders and was spotted laughing and smiling during an interview with iHeart Radio.
