Take A Bite Of The Wild Slice: Macaulay Culkin plays the kazoo with his band The Pizza Underground

Who knew that an Italian flat bread-based food item could inspire a whole rock and roll movement?
Macaulay Culkin and his band The Pizza Underground took to the stage in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday night and the former child actor showed off his skills on a kazoo as his band played pie-based songs.
Watched by his new girlfriend Jordan Lane Price, the crowd went wild for the Home Alone star, but there was a rival New York pizza-themed band who weren't quite so happy with the band's niche.
Deep pan or thin? Macaulay Culkin plays the kazoo with his band The Pizza Underground
Personal & The Pizza formed in 2010, bringing to the table a selection of pie-based songs, beginning with the Raw Pie LP, released on Burger Records.
According to the band's Facebook page, however, they sing songs about more than just pizza:
'[We're] three Greasy Goons from Jersey [writing] Rock n Roll songs about Girls, Hanging Around, Startin Trouble, Partying, Beatin Up Nerds, Delinquency, Rockin and Rollin, Eatin Pizza, Drinkin Beer, Fightin, Cars, and Everything Else 3 Greaseballs from the Street might sing about.'
Controversial: The band has come under fire by rivals Personal & The Pizzas who believe their act has been stolen
Velvet Underground: The New York based food group have rewritten Lou Reed classics with a pizza twist
Not the longest gig: The Pizza Underground performed an eight-minute set but made up for its brevity with free pizza (while supplies lasted)
When asked by emusic what they thought of their culinary rivals, the Personal said: 'Yeah. Here’s my fuggin’ review; first we’re gonna kill em then we’re gonna sue 'em.
'Don't mess with the f***in' pizzas, p****. I can reed motherf***er, I can reed (sic)'.
However, Macaulay's food-based musical endeavour is much more pie-related, by taking Velvet Underground/Lou Reed songs, and giving them specifically a pizza twist.
Their demo track lists includes Papa John Says, I'm Beginning to Eat the Slice, I'm Waiting For Delivery Man, Cheese Days, All The Pizza Parties, Pizza Gal, and of course, who could forget the classic Take A Bite Of The Wild Slice.
New York: The gig took place at Baby It's Alright on Friday night where the band ordered in some pizzas... obviously
Home time: Culkin left the gig with his new girlfriend Jordan Lane Price
Fun times: The band posted on their Facebook page how much they enjoyed the show the following afternoon
The Pizza Underground is made up of Macaulay, Matt Colbourn, Phoebe Kreutz, Deenah Vollmer and Austin Kilham, but for all the members they have, it seems they could only produce an eight-minute demo - and that's how long their live sets last too.
But the audience didn't appear to be too disappointed at the brevity of the show, for a delivery came from Williamsburg Pizza to the Baby It's Alright venue on Friday night.
The following day, the band updated their Facebook page to say: 'Thanks to everyone who came out last night. The pizza was tasty and so was our love. Way to cool it down!'
They must really like pizza: The culinary tribute to The Velvet Underground consists of Macaulay, Matt Colbourn, Phoebe Kreutz, Deenah Vollmer and Austin Kilham
