She’s known for her natural good looks but it seems that Lena Dunham is also partial to some pampering.

The 27-year-old film maker and actress shared a snap on Instagram of herself undergoing a beauty treatment in a salon.

Reclining on a lounger the star’s face was covered in a moist mask, while she sported a terry cloth headband to keep her hair off her face.

She shared the snap on Instagram with the caption ‘Things are gonna be great from now on’.

Meanwhile, Lena’s show Girls will be returning to HBO on Sunday, January 12 with back-to-back new episodes following the premiere of the cable network's new series True Detective.

The teaser trailer from the third season Emmy-winning series Girls gives fans a sneak peak of what's to come for Brooklynite hipsters Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna.

When last seen, the ladies of the hit comedy were dealing with broken marriages, failed attempts at first love, possible reconciliations and battling mental disorders.

We now see that Marnie coping with being on her own, while Jessa goes on more Bohemian adventures.

Hannah seems to have got an office job, while she still seems insecure, while Shoshanna is trying to recover after her big breakup.

But the show has also provoked controversy for its lack of references to contraception during sex scenes.

The Good Wife star Alan Cumming told Fern Mallis during a 92nd Street Y discussion on AIDS for Mallis’ Fashion Icons series that racy scenes should include a message of safe sex.

‘We’ve got to try and stop this cavalier attitude that it’s in the past,’ said Cumming of the AIDS epidemic.

Meanwhile, Lena got to enjoy a conversation with one of her inspirations for Girls, author Judy Blume.

The pair chatted in an interview for literary magazine, The Believer, with the full interview printed in a limited edition, 80-page book as a gift for subscribers.

Lena grew up with Judy Blume’s novels, and is said to have been inspired by the book Summer Sisters for the series Girls.

Blume is also said to admire Lena’s show and it seemed the pair had plenty to talk about, touching upon topics including writing, celebrity, sex, censorship, and favorite breakfasts.

She's "known for her natural good looks"? I thought she was known for a crappy show for which she insists on getting naked for?
