She's the star of TV series Grey's Anatomy but Ellen Pompeo is happiest when spending time with her family.

The 44-year-old actress and her record producer husband Chris Ivery brought their four-year-old daughter Stella to a performance of Disney On Ice's Rockin' Ever After at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The happy family even posed for a picture with one of the stars after the show.

Ellen looked chic in an oversized sweater, scarf, white jeans and knee high black boots.

Adorable Stella clutched on to the neck of her dad, who was casual in a cardigan and dark trousers but the youngster didn't look as happy to be there as her parents were.

The blonde actress and her music producer husband have been married since November 2007, and welcomed Stella into the world two years later.

While Ellen loves working on Grey's Anatomy, she has admitted she finds juggling motherhood and her career 'challenging'.

Ellen previously told E!: 'It is challenging. You know, I have my days where I feel really guilty that I’ve been here every day if I have to work a lot.

‘But the truth is I'm in a very blessed situation, I am so lucky.

'I am so lucky to live in a country where a girl like me can make this kind of living, achieve her dreams and reach her goals.

'And I don’t think anywhere else in the world can girls have the freedom that we do here to have these amazing careers and be mothers.

'All working mums have their challenges and I'm incredibly lucky compared to most. I can afford help and I'm fortunate where I can bring her here if I miss her.'

Why would she think America is the only country where a woman with a working class background can become an actress AND be a good mother? Has she never heard of women doing the same exact thing in France? Italy? Ireland? England? South Africa? Australia? New Zealand? India? Mexico? I could go on and on.
