What's going on here then? Alice Eve and Chris Evans cosy up on a cold night out for dinner in New York

Production on their upcoming movie - 1:30 Train – begins in a few weeks, so it’s natural co-stars Alice Eve and Chris Evan would meet beforehand, especially since The Captain America star is directing the film.

On the other hand, since Chris recently split with long-time girlfriend Minka Kelly in October and the gorgeous 31-year-old Alice is currently single, tongues were wagging about a possible romance between the two after they were spotted dining together Saturday night at John’s Restaurant in the East Village.

Although the eligible bachelors left the restaurant separately, they both got into the same waiting SUV and drove off into the night.

The gorgeous She’s Out of My League actress hasn’t been solidly romantically linked to anyone since her heart-breaking split last year with Adam O’Riordan, an Oxford-educated poet, whom she dated for two years.

As for the 32-year-old hunky Evans, he broke up with actress Minka Kelly in October, after the pair had tried, but failed, to rekindled their old romance. Evans and Kelly had previously dated back in 2007.

Evans, who is directing and starring in 1:30 Train had a hand in casting Alice to play his love interest. She had just wrapped Neil LaBute's drama, Dirty Weekend, when she accepted the role. She also has another feature coming out soon with Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston called Cold Comes the Night.

The new film is about a woman (played by Alice) who misses the 1:30 train from New York to Boston and is robbed.

The indie film was written by Ron Bass.

For their Saturday night dinner, the two were both dressed down.

While Alice wore trendy black leather pants, she also wore little makeup and used eye glasses instead of her usual contact lenses.

Chris wore jeans and snow boots.
