The 27-year-old looked gorgeous in a slinky black frock as she hosted a night of shopping at Switch Boutique in Los Angeles on Saturday to benefit non-profit organisation Chrysalis, which helps the homeless and low-income individuals find and retain employment.

Lea donned heels that featured thick straps while keeping her accessories to a minimum.

She wore her sleek brown hair in a low ponytail and opted for a smokey eye and glossy nude lips.

Lea was joined at the event - which was sponsored by SodaStream - by sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff.

Hilary, 26, showed off her curves in high-waisted black trousers and an elegant brown camisole.

The mother-of-one wore her blonde hair in loose waves over her shoulders and upped the glamour with bright red lipstick.

Lea recently opened up about losing longtime boyfriend Corey Monteith after he overdosed on a lethal mixture of heroine and alcohol earlier this year.

The actress said she is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of her love, who was 31 when he died in a hotel room in Vancouver in July.

She said: 'I really feel like I'm still trying to figure out all of this.

'It's been only a few months, but my mom has experienced a lot of loss in her life and she told me at one point, she said, there is an empowerment that comes with grief, at some point you find it.

'It's very hard but you will find it and I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise.

'And that’s what I'm just trying to do my best for him because I know that that's what he would have wanted, and to just do my best and to you know, hopefully make something positive for where I go in the rest of my life.'

i have not been in the papers today, how to change that ? i know i will do something for the homeless after all it is christmas, even though my outfit costs enough to let a homeless person stay in a 5 star hotel for a week, still charity begins at home as they say.
