Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood has revealed that his 35-year-old wife has been mistaken for his daughter on occasion.

Speaking about the age gap between him and Sally Humphreys, who is more than three decades younger than him, he told Hello! magazine: ‘Once in a while, she gets mistaken for my daughter.’

Sally, who tied the knot with Ronnie on 21 December 2012 added: ‘We were getting off a plane just recently and someone said loudly, "Oh my God, it’s Keith Richards." Then, to make it worse, they asked, "Are you his daughter?" I was thinking, "Please, just stop talking."

‘But that is the age gap, so it isn’t unreasonable for someone to think that. It seems to bother other people more than it bothers us, and then you have to remember that you don’t know those people because the people who do know us don’t flinch about it.’

When asked if she would prefer it if he was younger, the pretty theatre producer admitted: ‘Do I wish Ronnie was younger? Yes, but only from the point of view that you can’t go on forever so it’s about the amount of time we’ll have together.

‘But it is what it is, and honestly maybe it’s the old-soul-young-soul thing, but we don’t notice it.’

During the interview the guitarist gushed about how happy he is with his current wife, revealing that even his ex-wife Jo Wood thinks they should have got together sooner.

The couple, who knew each other for some time before becoming romantically involved, got engaged after dating for just six months.

Ronnie has been married twice before, firstly to Krissy Findlay - the mother of his son Jesse - from 1971 to 1978.

Wood split from his second wife Jo, 57, in 2008 after an alcohol-soaked affair with 21-year-old cocktail waitress Katia Ivanova.

Following that there was a liaison with Brazilian model Ana Araujo, with whom he split after growing tired of her obsession with fame and a short-lived fling with promotions girl Nicola Sargent, 25.

His divorce from Jo, to whom he was married for 24 years, was finalised in 2011.

Fair play to him / most blokes would do it, if they could.

Well if she dumps him, he can come for me any time. Always liked him, not sure why (its not the money, he is in fact the poorest Stone") We will only have a 16 year age gap. (him older). Is that alright with everyone else?

He's deluded if he thinks she looks like his daughter. She looks like his granddaughter.

Well Ron 30 years apart, that's going to happen. My Dad is 30 years older than me. I'd be mortified if anyone assumed we were a couple!!
