Hey sailor: Pregnant Drew Barrymore wears striped top under a duffel coat with a friend in LA

While Kim Kardashian spent her pregnancy squeezing into tight dresses and stilettos, Drew Barrymore has taken a far more laid-back approach to her maternity wear.

The Hollywood star - who is expecting her second child with husband Will Kopelman - wore a comfy striped top with a black duffel coat and loose-fitting slacks to a meeting with a friend on Monday.

Opting for ballet flats rather than towering heels, Drew, 38, certainly knows how to make her pregnancy a comfortable one.

Drew - who is mother to 14-month old Olive - and her friend looked as cheery as his bright-coloured shirt as they left an office building in Beverly Hills together.

But Barrymore hid her eyes behind a pair of stylish coloured shades, and left her highlighted blonde hair fall naturally to her shoulders.

Though the glowing mother-to-be last appearance on the big screen was two years ago in Big Miracle, the actress has been throwing herself into work for her cosmetic line Flower Beauty.

The make-up brand recently won a Best Newcomer Award from Womens Wear Daily Beauty Inc., and her good friend Cameron Diaz has been wearing some of the products while filming the remake of Annie.

However, that doesn't mean Drew hasn't given up on her acting and directing career, as she still runs a film production company, Flower Films, and still voices the Family Guy character, Jillian Russell, the ex-girlfriend of Brian Griffin.

Next year, Barrymore will be reuniting once more on the big screen with Adam Sandler in the new romantic comedy Blended.

Drew and Adam star as a single mother and father who, after a bad blind date, find themselves stuck together at a family resort, where romance ensues as their respective kids benefit from the blossoming relationship.

The two actors have previously starred together in 2004's 50 First Dates, and 1998's The Wedding Singer.

Joining the cast of Blended is Bella Thorne - who made her name as CeCe Jones in Disney Channel original series Shake It Up - as well as a number of TV favourites, including Community's Joel McHale, Reno 911's Wendi McLendon-Covey, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Terry Crews and Lauren Lapkus.

I can't imagine anyone not loving Drew! I've been a MANY years long fan and love her to pieces. My favorite of her films is Fever Pitch. she has excellent chemistry with Jimmy Fallon. LOVE that movie, LOVE Drew! God bless her and her little family, and may this pregnancy be smooth, ending with another healthy baby!
