'They would get the deed done on the ride': Tom Hanks reveals the REAL reason why Disneyland 'mile high' attraction got shut down
|
Joining the 'Mile High Club' is usually associated with sexual intercourse aboard an aircraft.
But Tom Hanks revealed another vessel - Disneyland's Skyway - served as a gateway to this infamous club.
In an interview with Conan O'Brien on Tuesday, the 57-year-old actor - who stars as Walt Disney in Saving Mr Banks - explained one thing he learned while playing the theme park owner is that an attraction got shut down because too many people were getting busy on it.

The Happiest Place On Earth: The Saving Mr Banks star has a little more insight on Disneyland as he spent a lot of time filming the movie there
'One of the problems was, there were a lot of people trying to join,
let’s call it, the Mile High Club in the sky buckets,' the actor said.
'There was other naughty stuff going on, but there were people that tried to, how do we say this, get the deed done. How to enjoy the e-ticket, maybe the g-ticket, the o-ticket, I don’t know.'
The Oscar winner - who is married to actress Rita Wilson - went on to explain because the ride was only four-and-a-half minutes long, there was little time to spare for anyone trying to 'enjoy' the lift.
Caught red-handed: The actor describes what it would be like for anyone caught having a romp on the Skyway ride at the theme park
Sky high: The Skyway attraction was at the theme park for almost four decades
'That means everything had to be out of the foil packet, everything had to be ready to go,' the veteran actor joked.
The Big star certainly chose his words wisely as Disneyland is a family-friendly park.
The Skyway ride at the theme park served almost four decades of lustful patrons from 1956 to 1994.
It featured a bucket shaped cart held up by a suspending rope that transported visitors in the air above the park.
Saving Mr Banks is not about Disneyland, though many scenes are shot at the park with co-star Emma Thompson.
Rather, it's the untold story of how the now classic Mary Poppins story was brought to the big screen.

Though his portrayal of the Mickey Mouse entrepreneur is getting applauded, it is his role in Captain Phillips that is getting him even more recognition.
In
the film, Hanks stars in the true story of a captain and the 2009 ship
hijacking by Somali pirates, the first American cargo ship to be
highjacked in 200 years.
The actor faces stiff competition in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama category for 2014's Golden Globe awards show.
He is up against Robert Redford in All Is Lost, Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club, Idris Elba in Mandela and Chiwetel Ejiofor in 12 Years As A Slave.
