Lena Dunham has been labeled hypocritical after she condemned R Kelly for his 'predatory behavior' a mere year after being photographed herself by Terry Richardson.

The Girls actress and director, 27, took to Twitter on Monday to express her disgust at the public endorsement of R Kelly, whose alleged sexual misconduct with underage girls has recently resurfaced.

In response, journalist and Fox News Channel contributor Michelle Malkin pointed out that Miss Dunham has been photographed 'naked from the waist down' by Terry Richardson, who has also been accused of sexually exploiting young women.

'You took your panties off for a long-accused predator/perv,' she wrote on Twitter. 'Of course feminists should question u [sic].'

The war of words kicked off when Miss Dunham tweeted, no doubt addressing R Kelly’s numerous female fans: 'There's still a sense that being down with the predatory behavior of guys makes you chill, a girl with a sense of humor, a girl who can hang.'

When Twitter users pointed out that her comment was invalid since she has been photographed by Mr Richardson - another accused sexual predator- she defended herself.

'Any man who takes advantage of any woman sickens me. That's all and that's always. No debate,' she wrote.

Ms Malkin hit back, making reference to the actress's friendship with Audrey Gilman, who split with the 48-year-old photographer this month after a two-and-a-half-year relationship.

'You had your pic taken w/your BFF's perv, sexist ex-boyfriend Terry Richardson...naked from waist down [sic],' wrote Ms Malkin.

The picture the journalist is referring to was featured in the February issue of V Magazine, in which Miss Dunham wears just a leotard while sitting in a director's chair, her stiletto-wearing bare legs hanging off of the seat.

'I responded asking that my feminism not be picked apart because of one PR experience,' the actress wrote back. 'You don't learn to say no overnight.'

The dispute didn't end there. Ms Malkin tweeted back: '"Overnight?" Terry Richardson's perv record was known for years.'

Ultimately Miss Dunham backed down and decided to put an end to the fight when she wrote: 'I am not immune to pressures. Learning every day. Have a beautiful holiday. I know I need it.'

Ms Malkin responded sarcastically: 'Aw, leaving so soon?'

In June 2002, R Kelly was indicted on 21 counts of having sex with a minor.

The charges were later reduced to soliciting a minor for child pornography, seven counts of videotaping the acts, and seven counts of producing child pornography.

After being arrested in January 2003, charges were dropped in March 2004 due to lack of probable cause for search warrants, and he was acquitted entirely in 2008.

Since then, the singer has enjoyed a busy and revived career; his newest album, Black Panties, has been creeping up in the charts, and he recently collaborated with Lady Gaga at the AMAs.

Terry Richardson, too, has managed to maintain his status as a top photographer, despite numerous claims that he sexually harasses underage models.

Lena Dunham's feminism is just another fake ploy for attention, as with most delusional Democratic Partisans who have no clue as to what they are talking about - they just think it is all an opportunity for popularity, fame, self advancement, etc. And in the end everyone seems to continue to pay the price for the poorly considered offering.

Dunham is not "half-nude" in that picture, she is not "naked from the waist down," and she is also well past the age of legal adulthood.

haha says she hates men who take advantage of women, also claims to be a feminist but gets her photo taken by one of the most sexist, PREDATORY photographers whose sole job is to objectify women, including lena herself now. its not okay when it happens to other women, but when terry makes lena feel "hot" its all good.

How did you get that from this story? No, of course not. Lena Dunham has a three year friendship with another sexual predator, Terry Richardson, who has promoted R. Kelly btw, yet she pretends to "hate" men who take advantage of women. No she doesn't -- until it blew up in her face --and her best friend Audrey Gelman got dumped by Richardson last week. Before that she enjoyed the man's company. How is that PR for R. Kelly by Malkin?

Lena Dunham reminds me of Gloria Steinem, a "Feminist" in the Public eye, but hypocrites all of their own devices when they think no one is paying attention. Steinem told gullible women in the past "that they didn't need men in their lives". Of course she's married now, while she left many gullible lonely "spinsters" in her wake.
