'Revenge': A sneak peek of the show's January return -- VIDEO

After being shot twice in the stomach by [spoiler alert] her new husband, Daniel, Emily Thorne is in rough condition when Revenge returns Jan. 5 for a new batch of episodes. The most pressing issue? She doesn’t remember a thing!

This development, which you can see below in a brand new clip from the show’s Jan. 5 episode, was teased by star Emily VanCamp when she spoke exclusively to EW about the big shooter reveal. “She’s so lost, she’s so confused, she’s so vulnerable,” VanCamp said of her amnesia-stricken character. “It’s a whole different side we’ve never seen.”

'Doctor Who' special Christmas episode: What did you think about Matt Smith's final show?

doctor-who-christmas-special.jpg

Doctor Who executive producer Steven Moffat is always keen to point out that the now 50-year-old sci-fi show is at heart an easy-to-understand saga. But the wily scribe has no problem with having his lead character remind fans — or explain to newcomers — just what the bloody hell the show is all about. Take, for example, the point in tonight’s special Christmas episode, “The Time of the Doctor,” when Matt Smith’s semi-titular, two-hearted hero introduced himself to a couple of strangers thusly: “I’m the Doctor. I’m a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. I stole a time machine and ran away and I’ve been flouting the principal law of my own people ever since!”

Time Warner Cable makes new deal with Viacom

Time Warner Cable and Viacom announced the multi-year renewal of their distribution agreement Tuesday afternoon in a deal that will for the first time make entertainment network EPIX available to subscribers.

Per the agreement, the addition of EPIX, a hybrid premium cable/satellite TV network and subscription video on demand service, will put over 3,000 titles — like The Hunger Games, Skyfall and World War Z – at the fingertips of TWC customers.

Moreover, the deal extension means Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks will continue to offer Viacom staples — Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, CMT and Comedy Central among them — across all platforms, including the TWC TV app.

“We’re pleased to have reached agreement in advance of our deadline,” TWC executive vice president Melinda Witmer said in a release. “We’re working hard to provide our customers with easier access to the content they love; this agreement will provide a more expansive offering to a wide array of our customers, from parents of young children to comedy and movie lovers and more.”

Additional terms of the agreement — such as the length of the renewal and dollar figures — were not disclosed.

'Duck Dynasty' Christmas mega-marathon to air on A&E;

Duck, Duck and Christmas goose: A&E is airing a mega-marathon of its abruptly controversial series on Christmas Day. The network has scheduled 25 episodes of Duck Dynasty in a row starting at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and concluding at 4 a.m.

But A&E didn’t get all its Ducks in a row to take advantage of the uproar surrounding co-star Phil Robertson’s controversial comments to GQ magazine and subsequent suspension from filming future episodes. A&E sources say the network booked the marathon before the controversy exploded last week. Duck Dynasty is cable’s top-rated reality series, after all. Plus TV schedules are typically issued weeks in advance and such marathons are routine over the holidays (one exciting example: AMC is airing every single episode of Breaking Bad starting Friday at noon).

Meanwhile, AdAge reports that Duck Dynasty‘s massive merchandising empire seems largely unscathed so far, with most marketers “simply laying low on the subject.” But one brand licensing executive suspects retailers will quietly finish selling off their existing Duck Dynasty inventory over the holidays, then might not re-order next year (“especially for something that looks like a fad anyway”).

Edward Snowden to address Brits in Christmas program

EDWARD-SNOWDEN.jpg

Britain’s Channel 4 says National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden will speak directly to Britain in its annual “Alternative Christmas Message,” a slot typically reserved for provocative or offbeat addresses.

The television channel said Tuesday that the appearance would be Snowden’s first television broadcast since he arrived in Moscow, where he has been granted temporary asylum following his exposure of the NSA’s secret domestic surveillance apparatus. Snowden’s revelations have prompted a global debate over the limits of surveillance and the value of privacy.

The queen delivers Britain’s “Royal Christmas Message,” but Channel 4 has used its parody version to give a platform to people as diverse as Iran’s then-President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad in 2008, and fictional characters including Ali G and Marge Simpson in 1999 and 2004, respectively.

'The Following' season 2: Cast and EP preview 'vigilante' Ryan -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

The second season of Fox’s The Following will find Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) turning over a new leaf. He’s teaching, sober, and no longer involved in law enforcement in any capacity. But as you might guess, things don’t stay that way.

“Ryan’s actually trying to put the pieces back together but he can’t get away from Joe Carroll and Joe’s cult,” previews executive producer Kevin Williamson in the exclusive video below.

The problems for Ryan start when a cult of Joe’s followers stage a terrifying attack on a subway car that leaves many people dead and Ryan hesitant to get involved in the investigation. Or so we think. “There is a Jekyll and Hyde aspect to Ryan this year,” Bacon says. “On the surface he’s really keeping it together but in the darker corridors of his psyche, maybe not so much.”

Watch the video for more scoop on the upcoming season.

Tina Fey comedy gets pilot order from Fox

Fox has given the official greenlight to a still untitled multi-camera comedy from Tina Fey and fellow 30 Rock alums Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock, EW has confirmed.

With the official OK given, Fox also confirmed that longtime How I Met Your Mother director, Pam Fryman, is set to direct the pilot, which is about a women’s college that begins accepting men.

This is the same project that back in August received a series commitment from the network.

The Late Greats: Ryan Murphy remembers Cory Monteith

Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of Glee, delivered a eulogy at a private memorial service in July for Cory Monteith. Read an excerpt below.

For me, Cory was both the beginning and the ending of Glee…literally.

The first scene of the pilot was Cory’s Finn and Matt [Morrison]‘s Mr. Schu. None of us really knew what we were doing. Glee was a musical, musicals had never worked on television, and we were figuring it out as we went along. At the end of his first take, Cory could see I, his director, was a little unsure. He came up to me with a big grin and said, “This is going to be fun.” He was terribly right, and terribly wrong. READ FULL STORY

Fox's 'Broadchurch' adaptation adds Nick Nolte

Nick Nolte is the latest star to join the swelling cast of Fox’s upcoming Broadchurch remake, Gracepoint.

Nolte joins the show, about a murder in a small coastal town, as a series regular, playing Jack Reinhold, a stubborn, unmarried man who has lived in Gracepoint for two decades. According to casting details, his character “runs the kayak rental on the beach as well as the local wildlife observation program, where the murdered boy was one of his volunteers.”

Nolte rounds out a cast that also includes David Tennant, who will play the lead detective, Anna Gunn, Jacki Weaver, Michael Pena, and Kevin Zegers.

Back in September, after the conclusion of Broadchurch‘s run on BBC America, creator Chris Chibnall told EW of the remake, which begins shooting in January: “The DNA of the original is absolutely intact and filtered through a new prism, so it should still feel just as vibrant, and interesting, and strange, and unique, and beautiful, but just in a different setting — and then it’s exploring the dramatic opportunities that that offers up.”

New 'Girls' trailer: If there's no turkey bacon, Hannah will take regular bacon -- VIDEO

That sort of sums everything up, doesn’t it?

In this newest trailer for Girls season 3, Shoshanna marvels at how little her three older pals have accomplished in the four years since they graduated college. (Wait — we don’t count spending two days hooking up with Patrick Wilson as an accomplishment?)

If the clip is any indication, that all could change in the show’s upcoming episodes. Hannah, at least, seems like she’ll find some success during a meeting with a publisher. But elsewhere, things seem pretty business as usual; Marnie is telling someone standing offscreen that he can’t break up with her. Jessa is looking moody and pseudo-European. Hannah is doing spit takes and dancing around and incessantly talking about food. (It’s like she knows what the haters are saying!) At least they still seem to be having a little more fun than they did last season.
