Cardboard Slide

When I came across this cardboard slide, I just knew that I had to give it a try since both of my boys love slides.  Luckily, we still had the large cardboard box from our homemade elevator (the elevator lasted a good two weeks or so before the boys lost interest in it).  So we recycled the box for a second time.

Materials

• Large cardboard box
• Duct tape
• Pillows and/or blankets
• A set of stairs

To set up the slide, flatten the cardboard box and lay it along the stairs.  I cut the top flaps of the box off so that the boys would have room to climb back up the stairs.

Use the duct tape at the top of the slide to adhere it to the stairs so it won't move when the slide is in use.  I chose to put some pillows and blankets on the individual steps for added support.  I also put a crash pad of blankets on the bottom and used the blankets to cover any corners on the wall that were visible.

I am glad that I only made a small slide since the boys went fast!  As a result, it was hard to take clear pictures.

The boys used this slide for a solid hour before taking a break and K was covered in sweat.  In fact, his poor hair was matted to the back of his head with sweat.  So the slide was an absolute success!  It will definitely be something we do again when the weather isn't cooperating.
