Besiktas have confirmed they want to sign Joleon Lescott, 31, from Manchester City.
He is out of contract in the summer, although City boss Manuel Pellegrini has said no players will be leaving in this window.
Lescott, who joined City for £22m from Everton in 2009, has made 13 appearances this season and would prefer to stay in England.

That's why England has become a joke in terms of international football. All our players are cowards, can't leave their comfort zone in order to improve themselves. That's why we are lacking in technical ability, just one dimensional players we have. smh
