What a year! Katy Perry sees out 2013 by performing a private gig at Caesars Palace with boyfriend John Mayer in attendance

Las Vegas is a prime destination for couples ringing in the new year with so much entertainment on offer.

But it seems like Katy Perry and John Mayer not only spent the week taking in what Sin City had to offer, but one half of the musician duo even performed herself.

The 29-year-old Roar singer closed out 2013 with an intimate performance at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Tuesday night.

An Instagram photo posted by costume designer Johnny Wujek shows the Part Of Me singer performing alongside two guitarists and two female back-up singers.

The costume designer captioned the photo: 'Happy new year world #ilovemyjob #vegas# #kp.'

Katy was scantily clad in what looked like a white Vegas showgirl inspired number.

The short outfit was beaded with frills at the bottom and the singer completed the ensemble with shiny pantyhouse.

Among those in attendance were invited guests of the iconic hotel and of course the pop star's 36-year-old boyfriend, whom apparently watched secretly from the sound booth.

According to People, the show was essentially a compilation of the dark haired beauty's hits but she never mentioned her beau in the entire 80-minute set.

Despite keeping quiet about their relationship on-stage, the couple apparently celebrated the beginning of 2014 at a private party at the hotel and casino's Fizz champagne bar and lounge.

Katy has been in the gambling and entertainment hub for close to a week, beginning with a Britney Spears concert that she attended on Friday with her musician boyfriend visibly absent.

The Gravity performer made the trip to the desert to attend a Fleetwood Mac concert alongside his buxom girlfriend and even hi-jacked her Twitter to post about the experience.

In response to singer Stevie Nicks dedicating the song Land Slide to the couple, John took to Katy's Twitter account to write: 'Unforgettable.'

The doting boyfriend also tweeted that the pop star could not write the tweet herself because she was 'getting over' the dedication.
