It's a sick game that is gaining momentum in America, and involves teenagers randomly beating up strangers, including women, with the goal of knocking them unconscious.

And Rose McGowan got a nasty taste of the so-called 'knockout' game on Thursday.

The 40-year-old took to Twitter to express her rage after witnessing a 'masked guy' punch an elderly man in Venice, California.

The actress was enjoying a sunset stroll with a friend on the famous Venice Beach promenade when the incident occurred.

'I just witnessed a 65 year old man get punched by an evil guy playing that goddamn knockout game. #criminal #heartbroken #whattheF?!,' tweeted Rose.

She said the perpertrator wore a mask and rode a skateboard, and although she chased after him he was 'too fast,' she wrote in another tweet.

But Rose played the part of good Samaritan and tended to the injured man and his pet.

'Bleeding from the ear. Called an ambulance for him. His little dog tried to protect. :(' she tweeted.

When a fan asked animal lover Rose whether she was able to look after the pup, she answered, 'Of course!'

The star played a witch on the hit show Charmed, and she agreed with a fan that character Paige's powers would have come in handy.

'Right?! RT @HHN79: @rosemcgowan I bet this is one of those times you wished you actually had Paige's powers. Make that dirt bag pay,' she wrote.

The game known as 'knockout' is allegedly gaining in popularity, and involves teenagers punching unsuspecting strangers with the goal of knocking them unconscious.

Incidents have been reported across the country, including in New Jersey, New York and Illinois.

Chuck Williams, a youth violence expert, told CNN that the media and parents are to blame for the 'extreme aggression' displayed by the nation's youth.

'That's America. America loves violence and so do our kids,' Williams said. 'We market violence to our children and we wonder why they're violent. It's because we are.'

Williams called it the 'Miley Cyrus effect,' where teenagers will go to any lengths to get attention.

'These kids know the consequences,' he said. 'They want to get arrested. They want to get caught, because they want that notoriety. They know they won't go away forever because they're kids. It's a win-win all around for them.'

This is what happens when young people don't learn about responsibility and consequences. Neither are valued in todays "live by the second, take what you can get" society.
