The game known as 'knockout' is allegedly gaining in popularity, and involves teenagers punching unsuspecting strangers with the goal of knocking them unconscious.
Incidents have been reported across the country, including in New Jersey, New York and Illinois.
Chuck Williams, a youth violence expert, told CNN that the media and parents are to blame for the 'extreme aggression' displayed by the nation's youth.
'That's America. America loves violence and so do our kids,' Williams said. 'We market violence to our children and we wonder why they're violent. It's because we are.'
Williams called it the 'Miley Cyrus effect,' where teenagers will go to any lengths to get attention.
'These kids know the consequences,' he said. 'They want to get arrested. They want to get caught, because they want that notoriety. They know they won't go away forever because they're kids. It's a win-win all around for them.'

This is what happens when young people don't learn about responsibility and consequences. Neither are valued in todays "live by the second, take what you can get" society.
