Alyssa Milano makes Spanx joke as she accepts Jay Mohr's heartfelt apology for 'fat shaming' comments

Alyssa Milano graciously accepted Jay Mohr's heartfelt apology Friday by making a Spanx joke, effectively ending their brief feud.

The initial drama occurred following the 43-year-old funnyman's fat-shaming comments after hosting the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series awards show in Las Vegas where the 41-year-old actress presented.

The SNL alum called her 'Melissa' Milano on a radio show and joked: 'Somebody sat in the director’s chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, "Jesus Christ."'

The Who's the Boss beauty - who gave birth to son Milo in August 2011 - responded to the blond comedian Christmas Day.

'So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife,' Alyssa tweeted to her 2.6 million followers.

On Thursday, Jay tweeted blogger Perez Hilton and Milano: 'She's stunning. I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have been taken as a joke. #fail'

The Emmy-nominated producer then expanded his tweet into a full-blown blog post where he called the mother-of-one 'a class act' who's 'extraordinarily beautiful.'

'Sometimes comedians go too far. I went too far. I cannot change what I said, but I can assure you that my heart is broken that I hurt her. I am very sorry,' Mohr wrote Friday.

'It wasn't funny. Knowing that Alyssa, as well as her family, friends, fans, and especially her husband, heard things that were hurtful from my mouth crushed me. She has always been one of the kindest, most caring and beautiful people this town has ever seen.'

Jay added: 'I know full well how much words can hurt people, having seen my wife [Nikki Cox] get destroyed by the tabloids, and I am embarrassed that I didn't think before I spoke'

Once she read Jay's touching words, Milano relaxed and playfully used his Spanx jab against him.

Alyssa currently hosts the third season of Project Runway: All Stars, which airs Thursdays on Lifetime.

And she'll reprise her role as Savi Davis in the second season of Mistresses, which premieres this summer on ABC.

Meanwhile, Jay will next star in the basketball comedy Dumbbells - due out January 10 - alongside Fabio and Tom Arnold.

The Jerry Maguire actor will reprise his role as Steven Royce in the third season of Suburgatory, which returns January 15 on ABC.

He is obviously an idiot who probably controls every bit of food his wife puts in her mouth. Alyssa showed her grace and class. Jay should be boycotted by every woman. Don't watch anything he's on. When he loses his beer belly and double chin and gets a personality, then he can talk. Jerk!

Before Mr Mohr openly critisises other women in the name of "humour" he needs to take a long, hard look at his own wife who looks incredibly cheap in the purple dress photo and that's the polite /nice version of what I think she looks like (I'm sorry I'm not as kind or forgiving as Alyssa Milano.)
