Taylor Swift dresses to impress in checked mini skirt, yellow shoes and bright red lipstick for trip to the grocery store

She clearly isn't high maintenance when it comes to her groceries, seen shopping at Ralphs instead of a special health store.

But Taylor Swift did make sure she was properly primped for her outing in Hollywood on Friday.

Appearing dressed in winter chic style, the 24-year-old singer donned a black top, quilted plaid mini skirt, and sheer black tights.

But what made her outfit pop was her choice of bright yellow flats and signature red pout.

Still looking carefree, the songstress let her dark blonde locks flow in natural waves.

Taylor was seen leaving Ralphs with two paper bags of groceries, also balancing a maroon handbag on one arm.

And with her lean figure, Taylor was sure to grab some nutritious snacks to maintain her trim physique.

It's no wonder the country crooner is in such great shape - she was spotted arriving at ballet class just the day before.

Taylor appears to also be back on the market now, with the New York Daily News reporting that things had not gone as planned for the star and British actor Douglas Booth who she met at a party last November.

An insider told the publication: 'Taylor kept on making an effort to flirt with Douglas, but he gave her the cold shoulder and was extremely dismissive towards her.'

But despite Taylor reportedly being dejected about the Romeo And Juliet star's lack of interest, they were spotted out on a few dates in London.

A friend of the actor also told the publication that the actor has been scared off: 'Doug is a young guy and is enjoying the single life.

'He was quite taken aback about how keen Taylor was. She has been in touch with him, but he just wants to be friends.'

The pop star has built up a reputation as a serial dater, as she was recently linked to One Direction's Harry Styles and previously had a reported fling with musician John Mayer.

She's dressed. She's not rubbing up against a foam finger or a little person. She isn't sticking her gross, coated tongue out at us. She isn't drawing a penis on the inside of her leg and then posing for an ad with no underwear on and her legs spread. She isn't at a party making out with everyone there including the dog. She isn't trying to be "edgy" by boring us with details of her sex life or her drug use. Granted she writes songs about her ex but in comparison to what other talentless stars her age are doing that's pretty tame. She's as close to a singer in the old-fashioned sense of the word ( one who can sing and doesn't rely on shock tactics to sell her music) as we are going to get outside of Adele. For that alone I like her.
