She's become well-accustomed to the jet-set lifestyle after starring in a string of Hollywood hits and popular thriller series, American Horror Story.

But Emma Roberts proved it's not all glamour as she fell victim to the downside of travelling around the globe while stepping out with her long-term beau, Evan Peters, on Sunday.

The 22-year-old actress was visibly grimacing as she buckled under the weight of her rather hefty suitcase while the couple arrived at a hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.

With her face contorting in pain as she struggled to manouevre the large red luggage up a step, the screen starlet seemed to be utterly despairing while lugging the huge travel bag inside the building.

And while Emma's boyfriend Evan would have no doubt liked to be a hero to the damsel in distress, he had is own rather big suitcase to contend with, and had his other hand full with a large cardboard package.

In spite of her turmoil, the American Horror Story star did succeed in showcasing her naturally flawless skin by going make-up free for her travels.

Wearing her ash blonde locks pulled back from her face, the actress niece of Hollywood A-lister Julia Roberts looked fresh-faced and glowing after stepping off her flight.

Emma kept her travel look casual, wrapping up in a grey knitted cardigan, which she teamed with a simple black tee, indigo skinny jeans and high-top trainers.

Meanwhile, Evan - who co-stars in American Horror Story with Emma - was looking equally low-key, teaming a blue plaid shirt with a black T-shirt, baggy black jeans, a knitted beanie and thick-rimmed glasses.

Emma recently made a return to the TX series after her character Madison Montgomery was killed off earlier in the season - but by the magic of witchcraft, Madison was brought back to life by some of her fellow hags.

In the latest episodes, she engaged in three-way sex with co-star and boyfriend Evan and Taissa Farmiga.

Speaking about her character to E!'s Spoiler Chat column, Emma said: 'There is so much happening with Madison on American Horror Story. I can't wait for you guys to see.

'I can't really divulge too much but every week when I get my script, I actually am shocked. So you guys will be probably even more shocked! The twists are out of control and the characters just get better and better.'
