Beating the heat: Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita tuck into frozen treats on St. Barts getaway

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita found the best way to beat the heat while vacationing in the Caribbean: with Panama hats and frozen treats.

The 38-year-old Modern Family star wore green walking shorts and a short-sleeved green button-down shirt on Friday as he hit up a take-out ice cream shop in St. Bart's.

His 28-year-old husband Justin wore white shorts with a salmon-coloured V-neck T-shirt.

Jesse and Justin both wore Panama hats with a black band and sunglasses as they emerged from the dessert store.

The Emmy-nominated actor on Friday also posted Instagram photos after sharing a delicious lunch in St. Barts with Justin and a spectacular sunset photo from the Viceroy Anguilla luxury resort.

The two dated for almost two years before they got engaged in September 2012.

They got married in July 2013 in New York City in front of more than 200 guests, including his Modern Family husband Eric Stonestreet and show co-stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell.

Hit show: Jesse was taking a break from filming the fifth season the hit ABC comedy show Modern Family

The foundation recently opened a pop-up shop in Los Angeles selling bow ties and ties designed by professional athletes who support marriage equality.

The athletic designers were former National Football League players Scott Fujita and Chris Kluwe and Phoenix Mercury WNBA player Brittney Griner.

The pop-up store at the Beverly Center mall opened on November 18 and will close on Friday with all proceeds being donated to charities promoting marriage equality.

Total partners: Jesse and Justin, shown in September in Los Angeles, are married and also business partners

His character Mitch on Modern Family is very funny. Also in the 1st photo of Jesse the guy you said is his husband isn't. The last photo is defin his husband Justin.
