The Girls Swoon Over Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” Performance On The Voice

by Bené Viera

For a minute there we thought Justin Bieber had joined the #moneyteam after this weekend’s Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto fight where Biebs was pictured holding Mayweather’s championship belts in the ring. Don’t fret. He may love the #moneyteam, but his performance on last night’s season finale of the “The Voice” proves he’s focused on the music. Before Jermaine Paul was pronounced this season’s winner, the 18-year-old pop heartthrob performed his first Believe single “Boyfriend,” which is soaring on the iTunes charts holding down the No. 4 spot.

Like the major star that he is, Biebs emerges on a platform beaming with florescent lights while fans scream with excitement. He starts off in a slow rap like talking voice and does a little two step hop. Only 20 seconds in and he’s swagged out. “Chilling by the fire while we eating fondu. I don’t know about me, but I know about you,” he says lowly. In his black studded jacket paired with gold high-top sneakers he makes the ladies swoon as if he’s solely singing to each of them individually. Surrounded by female dancers he does a few dance moves before the all male dancers take the stage. Eventually he has a PG-13 steamy dance moment with one female dancer before ending the performance with some Rhythm Nation-esque moves and Voice judge Christina Aguilera bobbing her head.

What teenage girl doesn’t wish Justin Bieber was their boyfriend? For them all that mattered about the performance was that it was him. For those of us over the age of wearing plaid uniforms to school, it was just ok. But, it’s Bieber. He can do no wrong.
