It is hard for even the most established of shows to return with a splash.

But Sonja Morgan has already got people taking about The Real Housewives Of New York by exposing her underwear.

The 50-year-old flashes her frilly pink panties as she lies in a bed in the thrilling trailer promoting the series debut.

The sight is sure to stir up plenty of interest among the show's legion of dedicated followers, who will no doubt be expecting to find out more when the series begins on Tuesday, March 11 at 9pm.

And plenty of twists and turns are promised for viewers of the reality show, with summer in the Hamptons, soon giving way to a cabin trip in the Berkshires and a typically luxurious camping holiday in Montana.

As well as the usual rivallries and arguments, storylines will also feature pet funerals, missing teeth, and Aviva Drescher's father.

According to Bravo, Carole Radziwill, Ramona Singer, and Heather Thomson are also returning to 'navigate their hectic lifestyles of jam-packed social calendars, careers, relationships, children and the hustle and bustle of city living.'

The established members are joined by Kristen Taekman, a 36-year-old model married to to energy drink tycoon Josh Taekman, and mother to son Cash, five, and two-year-old daughter Kingsley.

One familiar face who is missing from this seasons cast photo is old warhorse Countess LuAnn de Lesseps.

While she is still appearing in the show, the 48-year-old has decided against being a full-time member.

She told E: 'The show has been a part of my life for so long. There’s a special place in my heart for the show, for the women, I’m really close to the women on the show.

'I just made the decision to step back so I can spend more time doing my things with business and my family.

'It’s a win-win for me. I’m still on the show. I’m still very much a part of the show, but it’s not a full time thing.

'It’s very engulfing when you’re on it. It takes up all of your mental and physical energy.'

However she will not be featured in any of the first three episodes of the new season as she was still wrangling over her contract when it started filming.
