Angelic! Victoria's Secret model Karlie Kloss looks sophisticated in silver tux and leather trousers as she attends fashion fundraising dinner

She inadvertently flashed some side-boob during a recent outing in New York, but there were no such wardrobe calamities on Wednesday evening when Karlie Kloss made her latest public appearance.

The 21-year-old model – a Victoria’s Secret Angel – added a touch of catwalk couture to the red carpet at the Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner on behalf of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund.

Somewhat inevitably she caught the eye thanks to the striking silver sheen of her single breasted tux jacket after arriving at the New York event, thrown every year as part of the organisation’s aim to support promising fashion students.

Karlie matched the jacket with a pair of black leather trousers and a matching vest top, evident beneath the single accessory she wore around her neck – a small pendent etched with the letter K.

With her hair pulled away from her face the slender model was able to show off her striking use of make-up – in particular her painted lips, which stood out thanks to their blood red hue.

Karlie completed the look with a pair of black boots that she put to good use by striding into the annual dinner – said to be the most successful in the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund’s 76-year history – at the swanky Waldorf Astoria hotel.

According to the Geoffrey Beene website, last year’s event raised $1.9 million for the support of scholarships, internships and mentoring programmes, with four $30,000 scholarships presented to a handful of the most talented students from the Fashion Scholarship Fund’s 40 partnered colleges and universities.

Earlier this week Karlie turned head when she arrived at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York wearing a skin showing frock.

The model was attending the season three premiere of HBO show Girls - but unlike Girls’ main character Hannah, played by Lena Dunham, Karlie came over all shy and rushed to protect her modesty as she accidentally flashed some side-boob.

Showing off her model figure she wore a flimsy white dress by Calvin Klein featuring gaping sides which revealed her chest beneath.

Clearly a big fan of the show the American star tweeted a picture of herself with her sister, writing: ‘Date Night with my lil sis @kariannkloss at the @girlsHBO premiere! thank you @CalvinKlein for the GORGEOUS dress!’

Karlie was joined at the premiere by the show’s lead characters Lena Dunham, Alison Williams who plays the uptight would-be singer Marnie Michaels, Jemima Kirke, the spirited free-thinker Jessa Johansson and Zosia Mamet, who takes on the role of the overly-anxious Shoshanna Shapiro.
