Amar'e Stoudemire limites to four minutes in loss to Miami |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (2/1/14) Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire was limited to four minutes of game action in his first game back from an ankle injury on Saturday against Miami.
Stoudemire saw his playing time in the second quarter, and finished with two points on 1 of 1 shooting from the field. He chipped in with one rebound in a 106-91 defeat. It was his first game action since Jan. 16.

Kenyon Martin, Amar'e Stoudemire in uniform Saturday |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (2/1/14) The Knicks' frontcourt will nearly be at full strength Saturday against the Heat, as forward Kenyon Martin and center Amar'e Stoudemire are both in uniform. Both players have been dealing with injuries in recent weeks, with Stoudemire missing the team's previous seven games and Martin out for six of those seven.

MRI confirms sprained ankle for Amar'e Stoudemire |
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com (1/17/14) The Knicks announced Friday that Amar’e Stoudemire is expected to miss two weeks, as an MRI confirmed a sprained left ankle and bone bruise.
Stoudemire had been playing well for New York, averaging 11.8 points and 5.8 rebounds over a two-week span. He’s logging 19.4 minutes per game on the season.

Kenyon Martin, Amar'e Stoudemire will miss 'at least a few games' |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (1/16/14) Knicks head coach Mike Woodson told reporters after Thursday's loss to the Pacers that forwards Kenyon Martin and Amar'e Stoudemire will both be out "at least a few games," according to The Record.
Both players were forced out of the game with a sprained ankle, and weren't able to return. They'll likely miss Friday's home game against the Clippers. The Knicks will return to the court Monday against the Nets.

Amar'e Stoudemire exits with ankle sprain |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (1/16/14) Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Pacers with a sprained ankle, and he could not return to the game.
Stoudemire sprained his left ankle and tried to play through it, but left the floor shortly after. He was taken immediately to the locker room, ending his night with eight points on 3 of 6 shooting and three rebounds in 14 minutes. The team announced after he exited that X-rays on the ankle came back negative.
Stoudemire has been playing improved ball recently, averaging 12.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in the month of January, despite playing just 22.4 minutes per game. He is likely to be considered day to day moving forward.

With the Knicks adding defensive presence Metta World Peace to the roster, it suggests even more that Amar'e Stoudemire could become part of the second team for the Knicks this season. There have been rumors of Amar'e coming off the bench and it appears that just might come to fruition. That doesn't mean he won't get minutes, however, as he'll likely be part of the second group of players that features J.R. Smith. Entering his 12th NBA season, Stoudemire is coming off two knee surgeries. His health will definitely be his biggest question mark considering he played well when he did see minutes last year. Stoudemire still averaged 14.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting almost 58 percent from the field over 23.5 minutes per night. Because we can't hope for too much more than that, Stoudemire must be considered only a middle-to-late round option to be taken on Draft Day.
