Michelle Bridges on why Commando 'affair' drama isn't getting in the way of her career

She caused more of a stir with her 'affair' with Biggest Loser co-star Steve ‘Commando’ Willis, than with her personal training last year.

But fitness entrepreneur Michelle Bridges says the upheaval in her love life has only made her stronger and she now looks forward to new business ventures in 2014.

‘That's life,’ the popular reality TV trainer said of the changes she has experienced over the past 12 months in an interview with news.com.au.

‘Life changes and if it doesn't you should check your pulse.

‘Everybody has a personal life and a professional life and for the most part they don't cross over. I think the general public … know what I do and stand for and who I am.’

The 43-year-old last year separated from her manager and husband of nine years Bill Moore, after it was revealed she was having a relationship with Willis, 37.

Commando was also in a long term relationship at the time, and has two young children, Ella, 6, and Jack, 2, with his former partner, and a third child Brianna, aged 15, from a previous relationship.

Both have since split from their partners, and despite a brief break last year, say they are still very much together.

Bridges recently told the Sydney Morning Herald she reflects positively on the tumultuous year, despite her divorce and negative attention from the press.

‘I had a great year.’ she told the daily, ‘I learnt a lot about business, about myself, my health, my wellness, and I'm ready to take on 2014.’

A careen driven business woman, Bridges currently manages three companies including her online personal training service 12 Week Body Transformation, that is estimated to be worth around $67 million.

Also a best-selling author and designer of fitness wear line One Active by Michelle Bridges, in partnership with department store giant Big W, it doesn’t appear as though the recent upheaval in her love life has skewed her focus at all.

Bridges appears as a trainer on the reality weight loss competition The Biggest Loser, which this season takes on the challenge of reducing the size of one of Australia’s most overweight towns.

She revealed that her role in the show will be a bit different this year: ‘I'm sneaking in to train the entire town and also training the eliminated contestants on the quiet - and then we go back for revenge’.

An aspiring talk-show host herself, Bridges also made a live television appearance on the Daily Shot with Ali Wentworth last week, where she busted five of the biggest workout myths.

The personal trainer has been in New York over the past month where according to the New York Times, she is working on breaking into the lucrative American market.
