Puppy love! Dressed down beauty Ashley Judd goes make-up free as she carries her dog around Beverly Hills

She's the brunette beauty who worried fans when she stepped out with a suspiciously puffy face two years ago.

However, Ashley Judd looked like she was back to her stunning self as she took her dogs for a stroll in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old actress went make-up free for her outing, pulling her hair back into a fuss free bun.
She was dressed down in a simple grey top, grey flats and skinny pink trousers.

Ashley lovingly cradled her dog in her arms as she strolled down the street with a pal.

Judd caused concern when she infamously touched down at Toronto airport in 2012 with a puffy face, which was later explained as a reaction to steroids prescribed for a sinus infection.

Many news outlets and magazines speculated that Judd had undergone cosmetic surgery - but her spokesperson revealed the swelling was caused by steroids she was taking to treat a sinus condition.

Judd then waded into the debate over her looks, setting the record straight with an article in The Daily Beast.

She said: 'I choose to address it because the conversation was pointedly nasty, gendered, and misogynistic and embodies what all girls and women in our culture, to a greater or lesser degree, endure every day, in ways both outrageous and subtle.

She also said when commentators talked about her 'nearly flawless' skin it must have been because she had 'work done.'

Judd wrote: 'When my 2012 face looks different than it did when I filmed Double Jeopardy in 1998, I am accused of having 'messed up' my face (polite language here, the F word is being used more often), with a passionate lament that 'Ashley has lost her familiar beauty audiences loved her for.'

Worryingly Judd, who admitted in her recent autobiography that she has battled depression, said the most disturbing comments about her appearance were made by women.

The star, who has traded on her appearance to promote her work, said: 'That women are joining in the ongoing disassembling of my appearance is salient.

'Patriarchy is not men. Patriarchy is a system in which both women and men participate. It privileges, inter alia, the interests of boys and men over the bodily integrity, autonomy, and dignity of girls and women.

'It is subtle, insidious, and never more dangerous than when women passionately deny that they themselves are engaging in it.'

Judd added that unless there is a change in attitude women will continue to be analysed and suffer 'brutal criticism.'
