It's been several weeks since she's been seen with her daughter Suri Cruise.

But Katie Holmes was spotted carrying a few of her seven-year-old's belongings on Friday as she strolled around New York City.

The 35-year-old was grasping onto her little one's patterned pink backpack and what appears to be a children's blanket and pillow.

Perhaps the doting mother was prepping her daughter for a play date.

Meanwhile, Katie showed off her city style in a zebra-printed blouse, black leather biker jacket, grey and beige scarf, fingerless, heart patterned maroon gloves, and skinny black trousers.

She teamed the pieces with a pair of black ankle boots and a studded camo handbag.

The Dawson's Creek star was clearly relaxed, letting her brunette locks flow in loose waves and covering her fresh face with a pair of sunglasses.

Though Suri was seen out and about in Manhattan on Friday, she was not spotted wit her mum.

The mother-of-one and her daughter - who she had with ex-husband Tom Cruise - were last photographed together the first week of January, enjoying a vacation in Miami.

Katie has certainly been earning her frequent flyer miles recently, having not only enjoyed a beach holiday, but also heading home to Toledo, Ohio, for Christmas to see her family.

Before that, the Jack And Jill star was commuting back and forth from New York to South Africa to film new movie The Giver.

The sci-fi movie is based on Lois Lowry's 1993 children's novel by the same name, about a dystopian society which goes to sinister extremes to make everything equal and peaceful.
