Iceland's journalism freedom dream prompted by Wikileaks

Iceland's parliament is being presented with a proposal to protect whistle-blowing media like the website Wikileaks.

The Icelandic Modern Media Initiative (IMMI) is calling on the country's government to adopt laws protecting journalists and their sources.

If the proposal succeeds the government must consider introducing legislation.

Iceland-based site Wikileaks gained notoriety in the UK last year for posting a list of names and addresses of people said to belong to the British National Party (BNP).
