Christian Bale looks amazingly relaxed with wife Sibi and daughter Emmeline while strolling through the 'hustle' at LAX

For someone who'd just come off a long plane ride from Germany, Christian Bale was remarkably calm.

The 40-year-old actor perhaps owed part of it to his wife Sibi who led the family through the busy terminal at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday.

This wasn't a red carpet but Christian was still in strapping form, clad in black jeans, a black button-up shirt and black jacket.

He lugged a black ruck sack and varied the dark clothes theme by wearing a pair of tan shoes.

Sibi, 43, who has been Christian's better half since 2000, had that confident, take charge glow while keeping the couple's eight-year-old daughter Emmeline close by her side.

The former model-actress was equally dressed in black from her tall leather boots and jeans to her V-necked sweater and trench coat.

She carried a large black tote and there were large-framed, tinted sunglasses over her eyes, but her smile said that she didn't mind being noticed.

Emmeline brightened up the trio in a grey sweat shirt with a colourful skull in front.

Just the night before, Christian and Sibi had wowed the crowd at the Berlin premiere of American Hustle alongside the British actor's co-star Bradley Cooper and director David O. Russell.

Although they both chose to wear their customary black, their happy smiles somehow kept the pictures from being oppressive.

American Hustle tells the story of con man Irving Rosenfeld (Bale), who finds himself in cahoots with the FBI when he is forced to rub shoulders with the shady folks of the New Jersey crime syndicate as part of the bureau's public corruption investigation.

The movie has been nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and it won the Outstanding Cast In A Motion Picture accolade at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in January.

The Dark Knight star won't be resting for long as he is said to have landed a role in the crime drama The Creed Of Violence.

"For someone who'd just come off a long plane ride from Germany, Christian Bale was remarkably calm..." Sorry, but I couldn't manage the rest of the "article" with such a ridiculous opening sentence.... Maybe you should have just written "Person In Ordinary Plane Travel Shocker" and been done with it? Jeez...
