Why can't I find a quote for a European company on your website, for a symbol I used before?

The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, MiFID, will come into effect on 1 November 2007. Article 28 of MiFID requires all OTC trades in shares listed on European Regulated Markets to be made public as quickly as possible. Reuters will act as a Primary Publication Venue for OTC trades collected by the Reuters Trade Publication Service. In order to meet its requirements under the new regulation on October 1, 2007, we have elected to change some conflicting Reuters Instrument Codes (RICs) that trade on European exchanges.

While this primarily affects real-time quotes on Reuters professional products, it is possible that some searches for tickers on the Reuters Web sites will return results that list an unexpected RIC. Attached to this answer is a partial list of the affected companies, their former RICs and the new RICs that are associated with the given company listing.
