Make-up free Christina Hendricks swamps her curves in blue blouse and black trousers to bag some groceries in LA

Lucky for her, Christina Hendricks has been blessed with a natural beauty that doesn't need make-up or fancy clothes to shine.

The 38-year-old Mad Men gave her face - and her figure -  the day off from heavy foundation and tight-fitting clothes as she stepped out to take care of personal business in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Christina proved that make-up free can be beautiful especially when once is blessed with a porcelain complexion such as hers.

The actress wore no trace of foundation, eye shadow or lipstick as she headed to a local convenience store to pick up some items.

The thrifty star apparently even brought her own plastic bag to carry her purchases away in.

Christina, who is required to wear corset-tight dresses and brassieres on AMC's 1960's era show, was able to move naturally as well in casual day clothes.

She wore a blue blouse patterned with mini white diamonds and let the hem hang out over her loosely fitting black trousers with flaring hems.

Even her coppery red hair had that 'I don't care' look, for it was parted down the center and allowed to flow freely around her cheeks.

The star recently returned from Park City, Utah, where she was busy promoting God's Pocket during the Sundance Film Festival.

The film was directed and co-written by her Mad Men co-star John Slattery and was part of the festival's competitive line-up.

Christina is currently filming the seventh - and final - season of Mad Men, and is already feeling sad about saying goodbye to saucy secretary Joan Holloway.

'I’ll miss Joan so much,' Christina told the UK's Express. 'And Roger [Sterling], of course. How can I not miss him after all we’ve been through?'

Don Draper, the suave ad man, well, she had a few choice words about that character.

'He made a habit of behaving badly from day one,' Christina added. 'Everyone thought he was so attractive and sexy and wanted to be like him. But now that his life seems to be falling apart, I don’t think he’s a person that anyone wants to emulate.'
