MATCH 16 VAN BOENING 6-2 VAN DEN BERG

MATCH 17 ARCHER 6-3 APPLETON

MATCH 18 MORRIS 3-6 FEIJEN

QUOTES: NIELS FEIJEN (EUROPE, MOST VALUABLE PLAYER): "It got a bit shaky but they went in. I just want to thank the crowd, the British and Europeans and you need them to make it.

"There were some immense moments and thanks to the coach for doing a super job. He gave us speeches every morning and kept us sharp.

"Even this morning, there was pressure on us and we knew they would come out strongly.

"There was some heat to get over the finish line but these guys are just so good.

"This (being the Most Valuable Player) is something I've been dreaming about this for seven years, every year I've played in it."

QUOTES: JOHAN RUIJSINK (EUROPE, CAPTAIN): "First of all I would like to thank Matchroom for staging this event and secondly I would like to thank our opponents, USA. They're a great team and the victory would mean nothing if they were a lousy team."

QUOTES: JOHNNY ARCHER (USA): "We lost a couple of matches we should've won and they blitzed us in a few matches.

"We all gave it our best and will do it again next time. Hats off to their team, they hung in there when things didn't look good."

QUOTES: CHARLIE WILLIAMS (USA, CAPTAIN): "It wasn't our week. Things didn't go to plan. We ate together and the chemistry on the team, even though we were losing every day, didn't break our spirits. We still believed we could win today.

"No disrespect to them but we feel you got the rolls sometimes. To win a tournament you need rolls to go your way. But they played good and Chris Melling was awesome."

2.52pm: Matchroom's Luke Riches presents the silver medals to USA, the gold medals to Europe as captain Johan Ruijsink then collects the cup and lifts it high in the air."

2.51pm: Johnny Archer's son is in tears as Feijen and Appleton jump on the table as the whole team celebrate.

2.50pm: EUROPE WIN THE MOSCONI CUP.

2.49pm: Feijen misses the 2-ball but a shocking safety from Morris on the 5-ball gives Europe another golden chance.

2.48pm: The finish line is in sight. Morris misses the 2-ball.

2.44pm: A dry break from Feijen gives Morris a chance and he extends the drama for at least one more rack.

2.39pm: Europe are one rack away from the Mosconi Cup. Morris leaves the 5-ball hanging over the pocket and Europe are on the verge of glory.

TWITTER: @GaryPeake15: "Feijen is the coolest player in the world. #terminator #MosconiCup."

2.34pm: A break and run out from Feijen. 4-2, two away from glory.

TWITTER: @eddywardfoster: "You wont find a man better under pressure than Niels Feijen #MosconiCup."

2.29pm: Morris has a chance for an advantage but misses a shot on the blue 2 into side pocket. Feijen takes the rack with a bullet shot to dispose of the 9-ball. 2-3.

2.22pm: Feijen's dry break enables Morris to make it 2-2.

2.14pm: Morris scratches on the break and Feijen takes he lead 2-1. Four more racks and the Mosconi Cup is in Europe's hands.

2.12pm: Feijen makes it all square at 1-1.

TWITTER: @houghtonheed: "#mosconicup ok Europe stop messing around and get these yanks beat please."

QUOTES: JOHNNY ARCHER (USA): "I played pretty well. I made a couple of positional errors but apart from that it was good.

"We're definitely feeling it and when anyone loses it is over, but coming out today we were relaxed. Everyone has to win, that's the way it is, but let's play it like finals, we've all played and won in finals before.

"We were trying to get momentum and Shane played the best of everyone yesterday and he said 'put me out first'. Everyone is ready to go and pumped up.

"I'm a little surprised with the European line-up and I thought they might come out with Chris as he has the hot hand."

2.05pm: Feijen will be the MVP if he wins this match but he has not made the best of starts.

2.04pm: Morris leaves an open table but Terminator Feijen scratches with his next shot and Morris hoovers up the balls for a 1-0 lead.

TWITTER: @sunny_griffin: "US kicking and paddling with all they got to make a comeback...trailing 10-7 Rodney Morris will battle Niels Feijen! #MosconiCup."

TWITTER: @WireFanatic32: "The way it's going, I have a feeling that Team USA could level things up & it would go to the captain's pick. COME ON EUROPE!! #mosconicup."

12.48pm: A good safety at the start of the ninth rack from Archer draws a mistake from Appleton and the American holds his nerve for a 6-3 win. Two have tried, two have failed. Now it's Niels Feijen's turn to try to win the cup for Europe and he plays Rodney Morris.

12.42pm: The frustration of the Mosconi Cup is hown as Appleton leaves the 2-ball hanging and slaps the table. Archer had lost the last two but claims this one. 5-3.

TWITTER: @PistolTweet: "Johnny Archer coughing badly in the #MosconiCup - lets hope it turns into a full on choke."

12.37pm: Things are getting nervous for Archer. He looks close to a 5-2 lead but loses position from the 4 to the 5 and then scratches with his next shot. Appleton reduces the deficit to one, 4-3.

TWITTER: @Welsh_Rev: "Loving Johan's input into this, down the stairs, knuckle bump, back up the stairs. #FirstClassCoaching #MosconiCup."

12.29pm: A failed attempt on the 5-ball from Archer gives Appleton a way back into the match. He takes the rack but still trails by two. 4-2.

TWITTER: @Lone_Ranger84: "Archer won't go down without a fight #MosconiCup."

12.23pm: It becomes 4-1 only seconds later as Archer's break sees the 4-ball crash into the 9-ball to send it into the side pocket. Only the second golden break of the event.

12.21pm: Appleton makes a dry break and a loose safety shot gives Archer a sighter on the 1-ball. From there Archer moves two ahead. 3-1.

TWITTER: @BradleyWG: "Don't really like Xfactor much rather watch the Mosconi Cup, lets get it trendin' #mosconicup."

12.13pm: Appleton is snookered and leaves the 1-ball on but Archer misses a shot on the pink 4, and misses it by a long way. Appleton gets his first rack of the day.

TWITTER: @tompittbrooke: "Battling stuff from the South Dakota Kid Shane Van Boening to keep team USA in the #mosconicup. Top top player."

12.06pm: Archer runs out after Appleton's error. The Englishman has only had one shot in two frames. Archer is breaking in the next with a 2-0.

12.05pm: Best putdown of any Mosconi Cup comes from head referee Michaela Tabb. To a fan making noise - 'Can you not eat your nuts while the player is in the middle of a shot'. You don't mess with Michaela.

12.03pm: USA start the second well with Archer taking the first and Appleton's break in the second is an illegal one.

11.53am: USA win the first match of the day. Van den Berg misses a 3-5 combination and Van Boening banks the 3 to set up a 6-2 success. Europe lead 10-6 and the baton is now passed to Darren Appleton, who will win the cup and become MVP for the second year running if he defeats Johnny Archer.

11.45am: Another break and run out for Van Boening. He moves to 5-2 and it looks like we'll have at least one more match.

TWITTER: @Minty1965: "This is tense, man! That missed 8 ball in the second rack could be costly! #MosconiCup."

11.39am: Van den Berg has no luck with the break as the 5-ball is in the way. He opts to push out and leaves Van Boening a tough 1-ball with the cue ball on the end rail, but the American is up to the task as he pots it and takes the rack to lead by two. 4-2.

11.35am: Third rack in a row that is ran out from the break. This time from Van Boening, who now leads 3-2.

11.31am: It's alternate break and it's Van den Berg's time to run out from the break. 2-2.

11.24am: Shane Van Boening runs out the third rack for a 2-1 lead.

11.21am: Van den Berg looks like making it 2-0 but bobbles a shot at the 8-ball. Van Boening accepts the gift for 1-1.

11.15am: A terrible start for the Americans as Van Boening wins the lag but misses a long attempt on the blue 2. Van den Berg mops up the rack and it's 1-0. Europe closing in on the cup.

TWITTER: @drummers90: "Final day of the #mosconicup Europe lead 10-5 over USA in a race to 11. One thing I've learned about this comp...take nothing for granted!!!"

TWITTER: @TomChicaBomb: "Hopes will crumble, heroes will rise. the last roll of the dice, will fall tonight. #mosconicup."

TWITTER: @journoian: "Will Europe play with the US like a cat with a mouse or just kill them off first frame? I say toy with them bwahaha #mosconicup."

TWITTER: @sdpoolplayer: "Can USA just put SVB up for every match in the #MosconiCup today? We may have a chance that way."

TWITTER: @adhesiveremover: "#MosconiCup // Today is @MichaelaTabb birthday, we all just sang to her. Happy birthday!! :-)."

11.06am: Welcome back to the final day of the 2011 PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup. We have a maximum of six matches, but may only need one. USA have no safety net, they must win everything or Europe retain the cup.
