OBAMA STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS RIDDLED WITH DECEPTIONS ON CLIMATE AND ENERGY

January 29, 2014: "Climate change is a fact", asserted President Obama in his 2014 State of the Union (SOTU) address. Tom Harris of the International Climate Science Coalition explains that this statement is meaningless. He also shows that much of Obama's SOTU is of great concern to the United States and Canada as well as the rest of the free world.

BBC DISGRACED BY SECRET PROPAGANDA MEETING: ICSC ON THE VOICE OF RUSSIA (Washington bureau)

January 18, 2013: ICSC Executive Director Tom Harris speaks with Molly Seder, Producer/Reporter, Voice of Russia, Washington DC Bureau Office, U.S.A.

"Harris points out that many other important factors affecting the Earth’s climate are very often just being ignored, for example, it is possible that the sun’s activity is affecting global temperatures. “People for example at the Saint Petersburg observatory in Russia... they study the sun. And they show that you can make a very good correlation between the sun's activity and temperatures on Earth,” Harris said.

"Harris insists scientists haven’t reached a consensus on climate change. “The bottom line is we really don't know if there is a majority or not of scientists who support it {climate change}.”

ARE CANADA'S CONSERVATIVES FLYING A TRIAL BALLOON ON CLIMATE CHANGE?

January 8, 2014: "Conservative MP Braid must learn from real scientists before speaking out on climate change", by Tom Harris, published in Canada Free Press, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"Appearing on CBC News Network's Power and Politics on Monday, Conservative MP (Kitchener-Waterloo) and Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure and Communities, Peter Braid linked recent extreme weather events to climate change. This was a serious mistake.

"Climate change has little if anything to do with recent extreme weather. This is one of the few areas of agreement between the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC)."

Read whole piece.

Question to ponder: Mr. Braid's confidence in his support of a climate change/recent extreme weather link, and the tepid response of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to his remarks, leads one to wonder if the Government is flying a trial balloon to see if there is a significant political downside to supporting the climate scare. They know that speaking against climatism gets their MPs in instant trouble with alarmists so they will not currently do this. If making statements in support of the scare does not result in serious complaints from climate realists (and of course gets instant support of climate campaigners), then the PMO may conclude that, like Danielle Smith of Alberta's Wild Rose Party (the current opposition in the province), it is politically expedient to change their messaging going into the next election to expand the potential tent of Conservative Party of Canada supporters. This suggests that climate realists need to loudly object to Mr. Braid's capitulation to climate alarmism. Otherwise, other MPs may soon follow and an overall change in government messaging may ensue.

Even if Mr. Braid's remarks are not representative of a government testing the waters for a change in communications strategy, it needs to be made clear to other MPs who may be tempted to support the scare that there is a political price to pay if they copy Mr. Braid's approach.

UNITED NATIONS CANNOT BE TRUSTED ON CLIMATE CHANGE

January 3, 2014: "Lack of accountability clouding the climate change debate - The world's so-called authority on climate change engages in exaggerated science and has become a political tool" by John McLean, climate data analyst and a member of ICSC's Policy Advisory Board based in Melbourne, Australia. Published in The Brisbane Times, Australia.

"Foremost among those who imply that the IPCC has a wider remit than it does is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). At its inaugural meeting in 1992 the UNFCCC declared that anthropogenic emissions of CO2 were causing significant and dangerous climate change.

Illustration by John Spooner as it appeared in the Brisbane Times.

"This statement had no factual basis. It was the IPCC's role to determine if this was correct. It certainly hadn't done so by 1992 and despite its assertions it still hasn't produced credible evidence to support that claim."

THE UN MUST 'GET REAL' ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE IN 2014
December 31, 2013: "UN decisions based on science fiction", by Tom Harris and Dr. Madhav Khandekar, published in The Gazette, Iowa's second largest newspaper, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, U.S.A.

"Why has the Secretary General not answered the 134 skeptical climate experts who told him in their November 24, 2012 open letter: “current scientific knowledge does not substantiate your assertions…Global warming that has not occurred cannot have caused the extreme weather of the past few years.”

"To maintain pressure for the 2015 climate treaty, there will be additional UN negotiations this coming spring, summer, and autumn. Unless our negotiators introduce real science at these meetings we will soon be responsible for trillions of dollars in compensation for natural phenomena that impact rich and poor nations alike.

"The right response is to help vulnerable people adapt to extreme weather events, to the degree we can afford. The idea that we cause them and can prevent them from occurring is science fiction."

WAR BETWEEN COAL PROPONENTS AND CLIMATE EXTREMISTS UNAVOIDABLE

December 18, 2013: “Coal Must Embrace All-Out Battle with Eco-Bullies - Meekly accepting blame for climate change dooms the industry and the greater economy”, by Dr. Tim Ball and Tom Harris, published by Los Angeles-based PJ Media (5 million separate readers a month).

“A reasonable person would expect coal to proclaim their industry’s innocence of the climate crime of which they stand accused, using the overwhelming evidence that global warming fears are greatly exaggerated.

“But, no, with only a few exceptions, coal leaders plead guilty to producing “climate-change emissions,”…they throw themselves at the mercy of the court of public opinion, complaining that hundreds of thousands of coal sector workers will lose their jobs and that prices will skyrocket as the nation’s least expensive source of electricity is turned off.

“The relaxed response from climate activists to these messages tells us that this approach has no chance of working.”

Read whole piece here.

Inexpensive, abundant coal provides about 40% of America's electricity.
If US President Barack Obama's 'war on coal' succeeds in killing the industry,
hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost, prices will skyrocket, and the
country's energy security will be compromised. All this is in the name of
'stopping dangerous global warming' that is not happening but Obama maintains threatens us all (image courtesy of http://www.globalwarming.org).
