Best of January
January is often a dead zone for fantastic video game and entertainment releases. But not this year! 2014 got off to a fantastic start with Double Fine's thoughtful adventure game Broken Age, Messhof's frantic non-traditional fighting game Nidhogg, and plenty of other superlative gaming experiences. Comics also didn't miss a beat with hits like Deadly Class and Uncanny Avengers setting a high bar. TV shows like True Detective also debuted this month.
There were lots of fantastic options to choose from, but in the end there can only be one winner. Below are our picks for the best video game, movie, TV show and comic book for January, 2014:
