'Every day feels like Christmas. Motherhood is such a profound love,’ she told People in 2009.

Becoming a mother has altered her fashion sensibilities, as she explained to Elle recently.

'Listen, I’m a mom of two now,' she said. 'I'm very casual. I live in LA so layers are essential to my wardrobe. I like slim silhouettes typically and I love good tailoring.

'I understand the benefits to that now. If I find anything vintage I’ll have it tailored for my body.'

When it comes to make-up, she likes to go au naturel, stating: 'I really believe in less is more in terms of makeup. I try not to wear too much foundation.

'He's got a real zest for life. He's got a lot of joy and he appreciates everything around him. That's really refreshing.'

She discussed her passion for the show: 'It’s a really haunting drama. It's more about the expiration of relationships with a backdrop of this investigation.

'The series runs the course of 19 years so you really see these men and their relationship and all these other personal details in their lives get revealed.

'You see how the actual investigation shapes their personal lives. People appreciate a good adult drama and the writing here is so phenomenal. And it’s beautifully shot.'
