He was forced to cancel his performance at Universal Orlando on Saturday night after losing his voice,

But instead of letting his illness get him down, Robin Thicke decided to make the most of his unscheduled day off - by taking his son to Disneyland.

Despite the theme parks being direct rivals, Robin appeared unconcerned by his faux pas as he and three-year-old son Julian made the most of the rides.

Grinning widely as he kept a tight hold of his adorable little boy, Robin certainly appeared to be enjoying himself as the pair rode Space Mountain.

Earlier in the weekend, Robin released a statement after pulling out of his scheduled performance at the theme park's Mardi Gras.

He said: 'I never want to let down my fans, but I have unfortunately lost my voice and cannot perform.

'I have been looking forward to going to Universal Studios in Orlando and am very sorry that my concert there (Saturday) night now has to be canceled. I apologize to everyone.'

Universal said the Mardi Gras event, which saw a New Orleans band provide entertainment for the crowds, would still go ahead, and Robin's concert would be rescheduled.

Meanwhile, the concert cancellation came as a Boston University student group demanded the school cancel an upcoming concert of the singer's, complaining that the lyrics to his 2013 smash Blurred Lines are sexist.

More than 1,600 people have signed an online petition started by members of Humanists of Boston University to get Thicke’s March 4 date at the school’s Agganis Arena cancelled.

‘Thicke’s hit song, Blurred Lines, celebrates having sex with women against their will,’ the group’s petition at change.org states.

‘Lyrics such as, “I know you want it,” explicitly use non-consensual language. And while watching the extremely explicit video, the insinuations grow from subtle to explicit to obnoxious.’

‘Clearly, Boston University has been a bedrock for feminism and ideologies of equality more generally. It is a dishonor to our feminist history to symbolically idolize Robin Thicke by allowing him to perform his misogynist music at our university,’ the petition adds.
