They're considered to be one of Hollywood's elite power couples.

But on Sunday, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner did their best to appear like any average parent.

Proving their children are a priority, the A-listers dressed down and took their son Samuel and daughter Violet out for a casual afternoon in the Pacific Palisades.

Ben, 41, tried to look low key in a plaid blouse, washed denim trousers and grey suede shoes.

Going with his relaxed look, the star - who will play Batman in the sequel to Man Of Steel - rocked a scruffy face and messy hairdo.

Violet, eight, seemed to be a daddy's girl, holding her father's hand as they strolled around.

Showing her sporty side, the blonde wore her red basketball uniform with her hair styled in braided pigtails and eyes covered with cute blue glasses instead of her typical pink ones.

Meanwhile, Jennifer, 41, was cosy in a white blouse, denim button-down, and relaxed brown trousers that she cuffed at the bottom.

The Alias actress teamed her pieces with a pair of strappy sandals, proving it's always summer in Los Angeles.

And the the brunette beauty styled her hair in a low ponytail with sunglasses positioned past her bangs.

Clearly a pro at juggling, the mother-of-three - who also has a five-year-old daughter Seraphina - carried her son in one arm as the other was used to hold her woven bag.

Sam, who turns two on February 27th, was without his shoes, only wearing a green-and-blue sweater and shorts.

On Tuesday, Ben and Jen enjoyed some alone time, seen sharing a smooch on the streets of Los Angeles.

They have to be my favourite celebrity family! They look so normal and down-to earth (you don't see Jennifer Garner doing her face up like a dogs dinner and squeezing into spanx and clothes too small... cough... Kardashians), they seem to do a lot as a family and the kids look like they wear what makes them happy.
