Lecture Series

Explorer Series

The Explorer Series is a forum in which renowned scientists, authors and adventurers address topics relating to natural history, the natural sciences and challenges facing our environment. Topics are timely and diverse.

Each evening begins at 5:30 pm with live music, Museum exhibitions and galleries, shopping and raffle sign up in the Museum Store, and appetizers and beverages for purchase in The Blue Planet Café and Museum lobby. All presentations begin at 7:30 pm in Murch Auditorium. Following each program, there will be time for questions and answers. Afterward, select speakers will sign their books.

Frontiers of Astronomy

Frontiers of Astronomy is a free lecture series that offers those with an interest in astronomy the chance to learn about some of the latest research in the field.

Presentations are given in the Museum's Murch Auditorium. On clear evenings, the Ralph Mueller Observatory will be open afterward. No tickets or reservations are required.

Archaeology

The Cleveland Archaeological Society is a local society of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA). Each year, the society sponsors a series of lectures, which are held in the Museum's Murch Auditorium. A reception follows each talk. All lectures are free and open to the public.
