She spent Thursday hooked up to needles in hospital.

But LeAnn Rimes must have been feeling a million times better on Friday, because by the evening she was spotted giggling up a storm as she braved an actual storm to head out to dinner in Calabasas.

The 31-year-old singer turned reality star seemed positively unable to hold in her delight as she made her way out of a restaurant, laughing her heart out for photographers.

Flood warnings and raging storms were not about to keep a recovering LeAnn inside the house.

The star slipped on a pair of tight black trousers, a white printed T-shirt and black blazer to brave the unusual Californian conditions, pounding through the puddles in an imposing pair of knee-high biker boots.

With a pretty face full of make up and her hair styled in elegant curls, the country music singer paid homage to her roots by throwing a black cowboy hat into the mix.

But she did take precautions, however, making sure to carry a large umbrella in case the rain threatened once more.

It must have been a joyous occasion indeed, because LeAnn's face was bursting with happiness as she made her way out of the restaurant.

It was a sure change of tune after the LeAnn and Eddie reality star spent the previous day in a hospital surrounded by juice boxes and needles.

On Thursday, LeAnn tweeted a picture of herself in hospital and wrote, 'Food poisoning or a virus, not sure which, but wow do I feel so much better now.'

Throwing love to her actor husband as always, she added: '#mybabyistakingcareofme,' referring to Eddie over whom she is fiercely protective over when it comes to interaction with her nemesis - Eddie's ex-wife - Brandi Glanville.

Saturday brought even more exciting news for LeAnn it seems, and she was eager to tell the world that she wasn't allowed to talk about it.

'Fun new job, can't share just yet, but YAY!' she tweeted, coincidentally around the same time Brandi raved about her own exciting news.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star wrote: 'I have so really crazy exciting news but I can't announce it for a week!!!! Its going to be tough!'
