It may currently be dull and dreary in a usually sunny Los Angeles.

But Ellen Page did her very best to brighten up her Saturday by wearing a bold and cheery bright green jacket.

The Juno star was seen leaving the Chateau Marmont, which is always a hub of activity over the Oscars weekend.

The 27-year-old will most likely be making a red carpet appearance at the ceremony on Sunday evening, her first since coming out as gay in a brave Valentine's Day speech last month.

The brunette star teamed her jacket with a pair of jeans, some lace-up boots and a darker green beanie hat.

She had her medium length hair out in a straight style and wore her signature large rimmed black glasses.

Page announced that she was gay while delivering a speech at the Human Rights Campaign's Time To THRIVE conference for LGBTQ [Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning] youth.

In her speech, she said she hoped her news would help others struggling with their sexuality, saying: 'I'm here today because I am gay. And because maybe I can make a difference.

'To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.'

According to the Hollywood Reporter, she said: 'It's weird because here I am, an actress, representing - at least in some sense - an industry that places crushing standards on all of us.

'Not just young people, but everyone. Standards of beauty. Of a good life. Of success. Standards that, I hate to admit, have affected me.

'You have ideas planted in your head, thoughts you never had before, that tell you how you have to act, how you have to dress and who you have to be. I have been trying to push back, to be authentic, to follow my heart, but it can be hard.'

"I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission," Ellen said. "I suffered for years, because I was scared to be out."

Meanwhile, Page was seen spending a day out with Evan Rachel Wood last Sunday.

The two actresses enjoyed a lunch date in Los Angeles where Evan, who announced she was bisexual in 2011, was most likely giving her pal some advice.

Page stars in the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, which releases in theaters on May 23.

It stars Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence.

PLEASE, "brave" by coming in HOLLYWOOD ? If she was in Afghanistan it would be brave, in Hollywood, it's just another day. Now if an "A lister" would come out as being a Conservative in Hollywood....THAT would be BRAVE. Everyone needs to to stop this "brave" nonsense, the woman didn't run into a burning building to save orphans for God's sake!

That's a very bold move, love. One is like to advice you not to revisit. Love the films and you're a great talent and brave coming out like that, but lose the jacket. ^_^

Yes, she's brave. She's just so, so brave. She's even more brave than a front line soldier, or that man who not only lost his wife from cancer, but five of his children in a fire. I mean, what could be more brave than admitting that you like other girls to a society that has inexplicably embraced this as the best thing EVER? Brave, I tell you.

I think you'll find most people who live in montreal dress like that. If she hadn't just come out, you wouldn't be putting a label on it. So, judging much?!

Yes, just like blondes should never wear pink because they will look like barbies and young black men should not wear their hoods up because people will think they are about to mug someone. Grow up, people should be able to wear whatever they like without having to worry about how others will perceive them.
