50 Shades Of Cage! Nicolas keeps it natural with grey hair underneath fedora as he jets into LAX

He turned into a silver fox for a movie role.

And now Nicolas Cage is proudly showing off his distinguished head of hair off the set too.

The 50-year-old displayed his grey locks while arriving at LAX after enduring a long flight from Australia on Wednesday.

Nicolas paired his mature mane with a tan trench coat, black T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The Leaving Las Vegas star accessorised with an off-white fedora and a pair of youthful brown sunglasses.

He was first spotted with the salt and pepper locks while filming his new movie The Dying Of The Light in Bucharest last month.

The film, which is being directed by Paul Schrader, sees Nicolas play a CIA agent who begins to go blind while on his last-ever assignment.

It also stars Anton Yelchin, David Lipper and Irene Jacob.

Over the years Nicolas has sported a number of different hair shades and when he started his career he had a distinct light brown hair colour.

Most recently he has also been known to play with the length of his thinning tresses as well.

Last September, he donned dark brown locks and a rather long ponytail while shooting the movie Outcast in China.

The Oscar winner is also getting ready to play another brand new role, a first-time grandfather.

Nicolas' son Weston Cage recently revealed he is expecting a boy with his wife Danielle.

'I’m so excited! This wasn’t necessarily planned, but it is completely welcomed. We’re so happy to be giving birth eventually,' Weston told In Touch Weekly.

The 23-year-old also said that Nicolas was ecstatic about the news.

'His reaction was one of pure joy and bliss. Family is very important to us,' added the Eyes Of Noctum lead singer.

'My father and I actually speak everyday and Danielle and I texted him the ultrasound photograph which was actually confirmation of what we thought.'

The couple hope to eventually have three or four little ones.

'We were both only children, so having multiples would be nice,' Danielle added.

While this will be Nicolas' first grandchild, he is also busy being a dad to his eight-year-old son Kal-El with wife Alice Kim.
